Descripción

Into the night. Dead by morning. In this episode we talk about the Dyatlov Pass Incident where nine Russian hikers died in the northern Ural Mountains between 1 and 2 February 1959.  They were: Igor Alekseyevich Dyatlov, Yuri Nikolayevich Doroshenko, Lyudmila Alexandrovna Dubinina, Georgiy (Yuri) Alexeyevich Krivonischenko, Alexander Sergeyevich Kolevatov, Zinaida Alekseevna Kolmogorova, Rustem Vladimirovich Slobodin, Nikolai Vladimirovich Thibeaux-Brignolles, Semyon (Alexander) Alekseevich Zolotaryov, Yuri Yefimovich Yudin (who survived). In part one we follow their path across the snowy landscape to their final destination, where they ultimately met their fate.  Then, we will take you through the search and rescue effort which lead to the gruesome discovery of their remains.  After, we will introduce you to the 9 hikers, who met their end in the mountains. We talk about what they were like, their hobbies and their lives before their last trek.  "Later, when they sat around the campfire for their evening meal, Sharavin produced the flask of vodka that he’d found in the tent and proposed a toast to the health of the Dyatlov group. “We shared it out between us – there were 11 of us, including the guides,” he recalls.  “We were about to drink it when one guy turned to me and said, ‘Best not drink to their health, but to their eternal peace.’" Part 2 coming soon.  Sources include:  https://dyatlovpass.com/page.php?language_id=1&id=12786 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/extra/SoLiOdJyCK/mystery_of_dyatlov_pass Music Credits: Dylan Owen - https://youtu.be/Uk5zngU-aAE Noel Malekar - https://youtu.be/dZm3qZPLAZ8

In part two we discuss the two main theories: the possibility that the hikers were killed by an avalanche or sinister Russian experiments.   "Later, when they sat around the campfire for their evening meal, Sharavin produced the flask of vodka that he’d found in the tent and proposed a toast to the health of the Dyatlov group. “We shared it out between us – there were 11 of us, including the guides,” he recalls.  “We were about to drink it when one guy turned to me and said, ‘Best not drink to their health, but to their eternal peace.’"  Part 3 coming soon.   Sources include:  https://dyatlovpass.com/page.php?language_id=1&id=12786 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/extra/SoLiOdJyCK/mystery_of_dyatlov_pass  Music Credits: Dylan Owen - https://youtu.be/Uk5zngU-aAE Noel Malekar - https://youtu.be/dZm3qZPLAZ8

A Dose Of: The Mysterious Death of Elisa Lam

In this episode we discuss the mysterious death of Elisa Lam in 2013. Her body was found on the morning of February 19th, inside the water tank on the roof of the Cecil Hotel. Her death was ruled as drowning with bipolar disorder being a contributing factor. It seemed to be a clear cut decision. However, we don't accept this verdict. It is clear that whatever happened was more complicated and perhaps more sinister. At 'A Dose Of' we don't accept anything being just black and white. We're going to delve into the grey bits, the ones that someone doesn't want to be revealed. Join us as we go through the case and theories to try and understand what happened that day to Elisa Lam and how she ended up losing her life in the Cecil, a hotbed for murder and misfortune.
