A Time For Everything
This week I got to interview Finn (they/them) about what it's like to be a Universalist Unitarian (UU) in Canada. Finn tells me about the many ceremonies involved in Universalist Unitarianism, including water communion, bridging ceremonies, and angel wash. Then, Finn explains why UU is not an apolitical religion, and we discuss political differences between the US and Canada. Finn also talks about what it's like to be trans in a UU community, and gives us a brief overview of sex education and anti-racism* work within UU. Lastly, I ask about worship services, prayer, and misconceptions about UU. *In the interview, I reference a book I read about race and the ELCA recently. That book was Dear Church: A Love Letter from a Black Preacher to the Whitest Denomination in the US by Lenny Duncan. Highly recommend.
