Episode 63: Pat Cummings; National Thoroughbred Alliance, the SAFE act on preventing Thoroughbreds being in Kill pens

In 2025 Pat was quoted as saying that TB aftercare is woefully underfunded (in the USA) and since then, has been one of the main driving forces behind the SAFE act, which is to help prevent thoroughbreds from ending up in kill pens. The National Thoroughbred Alliance's statement is to; disrupt the status quo, facilitate communication across industry stakeholders (owners, trainers, jockeys, tracks, and bettors), and implement meaningful changes to ensure the sport's long-term health.  In this episode we talk about the demand for the thoroughbred, the essential steps needed for the first two homes and how the landscape of aftercare in the USA will look in the up and coming and future years  This is a MUST LISTEN!
