Acerca de Baby, It's you!

Welcome to Baby, It's You! a podcast for those that are trying to figure out the messy art of parenting, doing life, and how the F to slow the pace down. I'm Kimberley - a Mum, perinatal nurse, family therapy enthusiast (studying my grad cert), circle of security facilitator, polyvagal theory believer and most importantly you'll find me continuously learning how to slow the F down. Here I share musings on putting the above things into practice into my life, or stories of others (with permission). The good, the wobbly and the damn right ugly. I'll share it! Whether you're here for a laugh, a cry, maybe some insights, or just to feel like you've got a listening buddy - you're in the right place.

episode The Thread Between Us - with My Mum artwork

The Thread Between Us - with My Mum

This episode is a conversation between my mum (Cathy) and me. Together, we explore our own stories and the threads that exist between them. We speak about childhood experiences and how they quietly shape the way we each move through parenting, relationships, and emotional life. There are moments where patterns become visible in real time, and moments of reflection about what it means to understand each other more deeply. We also talk about generational differences, what was carried, what was learned, and what was never really named and how support, or the lack of it, can shape the experience of raising children. At the heart of this conversation is a focus on listening. To ourselves. To each other. And to what sits underneath the surface of our stories. It’s not about getting anything perfect or resolved. It’s about sitting together, noticing what arises, and allowing space for understanding to grow in real time. This is a personal conversation and I’m really grateful to have shared it with my mum. I'd love to hear your thoughts and reflections about the episode. You can find me on instagram @kimberley.cousins or via email kimberleyacousins@gmail.com [kimberleyacousins@gmail.com] I look forward to hearing from you X

episode Learning to listen - with Shelley Clarke artwork

Learning to listen - with Shelley Clarke

In this beautiful deep and rich conversation, I sit with Shelley Clarke -craniosacral therapist, bodyworker, and seeker, to explore what it truly means to heal from the inside out. Shelley opens up about her own story, the childhood experiences that shaped her, the patterns she carried without knowing, and the long, non-linear road of inner work that eventually led her to energy healing and the body. She shares how craniosacral therapy found her as much as she found it, and what it means to shift from a mindset of fixing to one of listening. Shelley explores with us the nervous system, generational patterns, the quiet intelligence of the body, and why healing is rarely a straight line. Shelley also speaks to the profound benefits of craniosacral work for babies and children, and why she is passionate about putting this knowledge in the hands of parents. This is a conversation about trust, in the process, in the body, and in your own timing. You can find Shelley on instagram at @_shelleyclarke_ or over at her website www.shelleyclarke.com [http://www.shelleyclarke.com] Did something in this episode stir something in you? If you'd love to come on Baby, It's You! and share your own story, I would be so honoured to have you. Every story matters -and yours is no exception. Or if you're feeling called to explore your own story in a deeper, more personal way, I work with people one on one, using a beautiful process that maps the threads of your family history and lived experience. It can be a truly powerful first step into understanding who you are and where you come from. Come and find me on Instagram at @kimberley.cousins — I'd love to hear from you. 🤍

episode Becoming Who You Actually Are- with Charlotte 'The Living Doula' artwork

Becoming Who You Actually Are- with Charlotte 'The Living Doula'

This week I had the most beautiful conversation with Charlotte from the Living Doula, and I am so grateful for the wisdom and openness she brought to this episode. She went deep, she went real, and I know you're going to love her. We explore how the family we grew up in shapes the parent we become — and what it looks like to pause, get curious, and consciously choose something different. Charlotte takes us through her journey of stillness and self-discovery in motherhood, and what it truly means to align how you parent with who you actually are. We talk about the power of sitting with pain and discomfort rather than running from it, the beauty and the courage in repairing ruptures with our children, and why care work deserves so much more recognition than the world gives it. And then Charlotte shares something really profound — being diagnosed with cancer at 24, before she even had children — and how that experience cracked her open, shaped her relationship with risk, authenticity, and what it means to honour the rites of passage in a woman's life. This one is tender, brave, and so worth your time. Link in bio to listen Find Charlotte @thelivingdoula And her website www.thelivingdoula.com Hi, I'm Kim — your host! A mum of two who swapped Melbourne life for a slower pace on the Queensland coast, and I we haven't looked back. With over a decade in perinatal mental health and a background in family systems, Circle of Security & Aware Parenting I support parents through the messy, tender work of raising little humans.
