Beyond The Badge - Stories of Courage and Inspiration
Michelle Glasgow is a former NSW Police Sergeant who served for 13 years in various roles including, General Duties, Crime Coordinator, Domestic Violence, Education and Licencing. She is married to Matt, a current serving officer of 30 years and has a blended family of 5 with 6 grandchildren. She underwent the Beyond The Badge Program in 2018 and was at the time looking for jobs as a cleaner. Her self esteem was at an all-time low. Michelle is currently the General Manager of Women Illawarra, a local grassroots feminist organisation which has served the women and children of the Illawarra since 1979. She has extensive experience in responding to domestic, family and sexual violence in our community as both a community services worker and a sworn NSW police officer from 2003-2016. Michelle is a passionate advocate for women’s safety and empowerment, committed to fulfilling the vision of Women Illawarra – A world where all women feel safe, valued, respected and have a sense of belonging. Michelle’s story is truly inspirational and shows what skills can be brought to bear from 13 years in Policing. We hope you enjoy this one. Contact us at https://www.beyondthebadge.com.au/
