Episode 2 - Rosie Skene - "Triumph Beyond Trauma"
Welcome to Episode 2 – and I am very excited to welcome our guest today – Rosie Skene Rosie Skene is the Founder of Tactical Yoga Australia and the creator of "The First Responder Mental Wellness Method." Bringing together her professional expertise and personal journey, She offers a distinctive approach to the program. As a Fully Qualified Yoga Teacher (300hr) and a medically retired New South Wales Police Officer, Rosie's commitment to mental wellness is deeply rooted in her own path of healing and recovery. Rosie spent 12 years in the NSW Police Force, serving in various roles, including Operational Safety Instructor (OSI) specialising in Weapons & Tactics, General Duties, Specialist Youth Policing, and Domestic Violence Policing. Her direct exposure to the challenging world of law enforcement has provided her with a profound understanding of the unique stressors and emotional challenges faced by first responders. Her Marriage to an ADF Soldier has exposed her to the same challenges experienced by veterans. Following her departure in 2017 and subsequent medical retirement in 2019, Rosie focused wholeheartedly on her own mental wellness journey. Incorporating strategies suggested by her psychologist alongside yoga, breathwork, and mindfulness, she personally experienced the transformative benefits of these practices and moved from Post Traumatic Stress to Post Traumatic Growth without the need for prescription medications. Integrating her background as a Police Officer, OSI, and expertise as a qualified yoga teacher, Rosie developed "The First Responder Mental Wellness Method." Her objective is to empower fellow first responders and veterans to enhance their mental wellness and discover strength in their healing process. With her unique perspective, having faced similar challenges, Rosie aims to offer compassionate support and guidance to those ready to take steps toward improved mental well-being. Rosie has gone on to start her own Podcast – Triumph Beyond Trauma- which has provided amazing insights and inspiration to so many through some 60 episodes – personally I thought Episode 15 was pretty good Rosie is about to embark on another project and has just opened her own Driving School in Coffs Harbour NSW Welcome Rosie Links: Tactical Yoga & Triumph Beyond Trauma – Podcasts https://tacticalyogaaustralia.com/ [https://tacticalyogaaustralia.com/] Coffs Coast Driving Academy: https://www.facebook.com/share/1B97EroFuZ/?mibextid=wwXIfr [https://www.facebook.com/share/1B97EroFuZ/?mibextid=wwXIfr] Beyond The Badge Australia https://www.beyondthebadge.com.au/ [https://www.beyondthebadge.com.au/] https://www.facebook.com/beyondthebadgeaustralia/ [https://www.facebook.com/beyondthebadgeaustralia/] https://www.instagram.com/beyond.thebadge/ [https://www.instagram.com/beyond.thebadge/] https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFKA6QYQowvKOHkm0h99Crg Contact us at https://www.beyondthebadge.com.au/
