Episode 04: Algorithm(s)

Are Instagram's mysterious algorithm(s) and new sensitive content features fat-phobic and misogynic at their core? Or are they really there to protect young people online? In this episode, Ruth and Sam talk you through their journey with Instagram since the inception of their business, and the ways in which it once propelled them into the spotlight and has then taken it completely away. From Miley Cyrus finding and contacting them on Instagram to being shadowbanned, this episode explores the power that Instagram has in making or breaking a small business in the modern-day. As an explorational and foundational episode, Ruth and Sam want to know if you or anyone you know has benefitted or suffered from the new Instagram ‘sensitive content’ features or algorithm changes in the last 6-8 months.

Episode 03: Online to AFK

Trippy Tuesday started in the first lockdown and had therefore not experienced any face to face interactions with the people in their community. The first real interaction was with Noir, an un-expecting Instagram follower who won the Trippy Tuesday giveaway which meant that Noir, Ruth & Sam worked together to design the newest Candle Figure. Noir gives her side of the story and they talk about their experiences together so far. In the online world of Instagram, it is easy to get lost in reposts and empty activism. Episode 02: Being Human

Episode 2 - Being Human - is all about the humans on the other side of small businesses, learning everything it takes to run a business, dealing with customer reviews, and responding to crises' when they unexpectedly happen. Trippy Tuesday found themselves somewhat accidentally in a business and dealing with online customers instantly, having started during the pandemic. From the highs and lows of running a small business, and finding a community online, they encountered Small Business Memes on Instagram and quickly realised they were not alone. Episode 01 : Accidental Business

In the very first episode, Ruth and Sam sit down to tell the story of how Trippy Tuesday started out of nowhere from a broken ankle in lockdown to a successful business overnight.
