Acerca de Both/And

A project exploring the fertile space between opposites: science and mysticism, logic and intuition, structure and surrender. It's a field guide for the paradoxically alive. Hosted by Kaitlynn Lucas, a psychotherapist-in-training, writer, attunement practitioner, and intuitive, Both/And is a soft space for asking better questions, holding paradox, and coming home to yourself. Through personal storytelling, archetypal inquiry, tarot, somatic literacy, and deep conversation, this is a space for those navigating transitions, shedding old narratives, and learning to trust the knowing beneath it all. It's not therapy, and it's not self-help, it's something more relational, more mythic, more human. This podcast is for those who feel too much, who’ve shape-shifted too long, who are learning to stay and be seen. It’s for the seekers, the skeptics, the late bloomers. For those willing to find out what happens when we stop choosing either/or, and start living inside the exquisite tension of both/and. another-realm.world

Episode 2: Breaking the Spell

In this episode, I explore the concept of cycle breaking through a personal, political, and ancestral lens. From generational trauma and epigenetics to the rise of authoritarianism and the myth of Cassandra, this is a reflection on what it means to live and act within a collapsing empire. We talk about: *The Two of Swords and the collective pause before rupture *Historical + ancestral trauma and how it lives in the body *Epigenetic research on intergenerational PTSD *Cassandra, the Trojan War, and being silenced when you speak the truth *The emotional toll of activism and the importance of rest as resistance *What it really means to break a cycle—and how it might look in everyday life *Composting empire and dreaming what comes next Resources Mentioned: *On Tyranny [https://bookshop.org/a/106776/9780804190114] by Timothy Snyder [https://bookshop.org/a/106776/9780804190114] *Heather Cox Richardson’s Letters from an American [https://heathercoxrichardson.substack.com/] *Dr. Rachel Yehuda’s work on trauma and gene expression [https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/how-parents-rsquo-trauma-leaves-biological-traces-in-children/#:~:text=But%20almost%20every%20night%20he,in%20their%20parents%20with%20PTSD.] Support the show: If this episode resonated, consider subscribing, sharing with a friend, or leaving a review. ✴︎ Introducing: Both/And

Episode 1: Standing at the Threshold In this opening episode, I explore the deeper meaning of the Two of Swords, parsing its symbolism and relating it to the minor arcana of our lives. I share how it’s resurfaced in my life over the last several months, and discuss what it means to live in the tension between two opposing paths. I also talk about: *The emotional cycle of letting go: relief, buoyancy, and the return of fear. *The illusion of "either/or" thinking and how to soften into both/and. *What tarot has taught me about identity, trust, and timing. *Why this episode sat unreleased for nearly six months, and what changed. *The raw vulnerability of being seen, and how to do it anyway. If you’ve ever stood at a crossroads, frozen in place, unsure of what to release and what to reach for, this one’s for you.
