Acerca de but, yeah.

A diary podcast reflecting the thoughts, feelings, and opinions of a 20-something-year-old Filipina woman living in Vancouver. Not a citizen yet so she has a lot of questions on the North American culture that most people won't give a second thought. She has sugar, spice, and everything nice in each episode– a dash of astrology, a sprinkle of anime, and a cup of personal backstory, and finally some cute pick-me-ups in hopes it'll make you feel less alone. And she'll tie everything with a "but, yeah." In these talks, she'll make you feel like you're one of her besties.

episode making friends as an adult artwork

making friends as an adult

hi besties, i hope you missed me as much as i missed you! for this first episode of 2023, the topic is making friends as an adult, how that can go, why it can be tricky, and how can you maintain it! we were never really taught how to make friends as an adult. at least for me and melissa as immigrants to canada, we didnt have that highschool or hometown bond that many in vancouver already have. so how do we venture off and find our life-long friends? * how did you find friends before? how did that go? did you maintain it? * how can friendships be toxic? * friendship break ups are the worst, imo probably harder than romantic breakups. why? * challenges of making friends as an adult feelings chart here! episode mean to your partner? artwork

mean to your partner?

hi bestiess!! guess what?? it's a relationship episode! yup. that's right, i wouldn't have guessed it either – didn't think i would do an episode about relationships but here we are. let me know if you vibe with it and want to hear more – or you hate it and tell me never again :p this episode is specifically about if you've ever been mean to your partner and especially if you regret it after. i'm pretty 89% sure we've all done that and been there. we don't start out as relationship experts unless you're just a perfect human being and you were not brainwashed by media.  how to tell if you've been gaslit? or you're truly hearing your partner's feeling that is relevant to the situation? what is a healthy relationship? what are "high standards"? and what does "if they wanted to, they would" mean? let's go through it together because i have no idea either, but hear me out..

episode no one's a hero... or a villain artwork

no one's a hero... or a villain

hi hi hi. lately my mind has gone awol because i'm trying to do so many things at once. i recently left a toxic environment and on a new journey!! this episode was recorded when i was questioning and doubting myself a lot. if i'm a "good person" or in gen z words: "am i toxic?" lmao. but i've come to realize, no one is a "bad person" (exceptions of serial killers but even then people are fascinated on why they are the way they are) because even in disney movies, villains come from trauma or they have some crazy backstory - and thats where we can relate to them. to be a genuinely good person, i believe is when you genuinely try. no ones a 100% hero, no ones a villain either. no ones a saviour, no ones a victim. we all are just living out here as multi-dimensional beings. i know i keep saying that but its true. it's funny because im about to say don't think too deep about it, but here i am, thinking on a deeper level. lol. <3

episode is ideology toxic? artwork

is ideology toxic?

hi bessies. thanks for being patient i love you. today's episode is me questioning and explaining ideology. there's a lot going on in the world today and many of us can be emotionally drained from all the mass media talking about it. it is important to be educated on these matters but it is also important to remember our own emotions and to take care of ourselves.  i will try to analyze ideology because we throw words like that around so much. language and how we use it really does affect our own reality and mental state. to become more expansive as humans, we should be able to be open to new perspectives but with an eager mind for intelligent stimulation. that means we should always question what mass media tries to impose on us and never just fully accept it without our own mind taking a stab at it.  i'll talk about our consciousness, how complicated we are, how we complicate the world, toxic positivity, capitalism, individualism, and more. and of course, i stumble to my own conclusions and hope for the best y'all understand what i'm putting down. enjoy!!

episode desire is the root of suffering? artwork

desire is the root of suffering?

hi beautiful besties! today's episode is on the psychological effects on social media and how we can harness that desire of being better into light and love with ourselves. i don't know how either– i go through it too, but i just want to bounce some ideas of y'all because ya girl is struggling even how to not do that. suffering either way lol. and is plastic surgery just a standard in beauty now? how do you deal with it as someone who's never thought about it but now second guessing yourself 😳? i'll tell you my little trick that i try to do every night when it comes to manifestations because i've seen some massive improvements! i've also learned this short mantra i remind myself when I am surrounded by energy that I don't want to take in, in hopes to not lose yourself in the process of being there for a friend or partner.   i also mention the book, "Non-violent Communication", and I have been using language from there everyday and in my podcasts, but stay tuned for that episode because i will dive deeper on that soon!  enjoy bestieeeessss! muah!
