What does it mean that God is Holy? And why does He call you to be holy as He is holy? In Hebrew, the word is קָדוֹשׁ – qadosh (kah-DOHSH), set apart, sacred, completely other, incomparable in purity and glory. In Greek, it’s ἅγιος – hagios (HAH-gee-oss), sacred, consecrated, transformed for God’s purpose.
