Some of the things we talk about: -Lament is sometimes viewed as a taboo topic in the church. It doesn’t make us feel good. -When we make turning towards God a priority in all situations, turning to him in trials is easier. -We need to be truthful to God not because he doesn’t know it already, but to be honest with yourself. -Don’t gloss over your own sin with God, honesty is required and will help change yourself. -We can’t just expect God to make everything better without changing ourselves. -We don’t ask God to remove the trial; we ask God to move within us to get through the trial. Some of the things we talk about: -How do we connect with the spiritual? -Connecting to God spiritually is hard while we are still tied to the physical world. -Prayers don’t need to be structured. Get used to just talking to God in prayer. -Don’t be scared of the quiet times, they will lead you closer to God. -God always responds, we just might miss it if we aren’t looking for it. Don’t be distracted from God. -Don’t get caught up in the business of the world. It is meant to distract you from growing closer to God. -Cutting the things that aren’t fruitful in our lives allows us to put our energy into things that are fruitful. He is going to pull you through it. - Leaning on God to take away hardship is different than leaning on him to help you grow through the hardship. - Look at God’s miracles in all situations. God’s grace is sufficient for us. - It’s ok to brag about God. Be willing to share the greatness that God is doing in your life.
