#9 - KOMARA II is Coming – Listening Party & Tour with Trey Gunn.

In this special episode, I talk about the upcoming release of the new KOMARA II album – a dark, experimental journey crafted with drummer Pat Mastelotto (King Crimson) and Paolo Raineri. We also announce today’s Bandcamp Listening Party where you'll hear the full album before its official release, and get a chance to ask us questions. I also share news about the June tour with Trey Gunn, stories from the studio in Texas, and what this project means to me after ten intense years since the first KOMARA record. ▶️ Join the listening party [https://komara.bandcamp.com/merch/komara-ii-listening-party]🎫 KOMARA Tour Tickets [https://sites.google.com/view/komaraband/tour-dates?authuser=0]🎧 Album drops June 27 on 7D Media [https://7dmedia.com/]👉KOMARA on social medias [https://linktr.ee/KOMARABAND]🎙️Podcast on Spotify [https://open.spotify.com/show/4KswzXYe9JR0aMWBuf7LVf?si=4b560627e38c4a49]🎙️Apple podcasts [https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/david-kollar-podcast-en/id1771201111] Let’s dive into the raw spirit behind KOMARA II.Thanks for listening. #8 - CALLS – Music Born from Frustration and Phone Lines

This episode dives into the making of my new album CALLS – a raw and deeply personal record built around real phone calls recorded during a time of creative struggle. These conversations, filled with frustration, doubt, humor, and reflection, became the backbone of the music. I share the story of a visit from a friend in Liverpool, how that moment of connection changed everything, and why I chose to keep my voice raw and unfiltered. Featuring incredible guests like Erik Truffaz, Paolo Raineri and Marco Minnemann, CALLS is a snapshot of an artist in the middle of a storm – trying to stay afloat, trying to make meaning. 🎧 Listen to the album: * Spotify [https://open.spotify.com/album/7Bv81E0vKZEQ7Xj3XGcRVt?si=lnMi2lmyQPexEm4BTz5UCA] * Apple Music [https://music.apple.com/sk/album/calls-2025/1811913369?l=sk] * Bandcamp [https://davidkollar.bandcamp.com/album/calls] 🛒 Merch & Limited Edition Vinyl: * Official Merch Shop [https://david-kollar.tpopsite.com/] Thanks for listening and supporting independent music. In this hotel room interview, I had the chance to talk with the legendary Norwegian trumpeter Nils Petter Molvær. Nils shared an incredible story about how he once stole a boat just to make it to a concert in Oslo. We also discussed artificial intelligence and its impact on music. Talking about music with such an outstanding musician was truly enriching. We explored the uniqueness of Norwegian musicians and what makes them so original. Additionally, we touched on the topic of music streaming and its effects on today’s artists. 🎧 Listen now and dive into a conversation with one of the most innovative figures in jazz and electronic music! 🔗 Follow Nils Petter Molvær:🌍 Website: https://www.nilspettermolvaer.com 📷 Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/nilspettermolvaer [https://www.instagram.com/nilspettermolvaer]🎵 Spotify: 📘 Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/NilsPetterMolvaer [https://www.facebook.com/NilsPetterMolvaer] This is a public episode. #5 - "Practice Routines: How to win the war against stagnation and laziness"

In this episode of the podcast, I talk about how I spent my time on maternity leave with my daughter. I had a very strict schedule every day to avoid stagnation and laziness. It wasn't easy. I quit my job to fully dedicate myself to music. My wife went to work and I stayed home with my daughter on maternity leave. MY DAILY PLAN: (It didn't have to be followed exactly in order; I could exercise more, but not less.) * 1 hour - 60 bpm workout with the clock on the wall. After ten minutes rhythmic scales and long and short notes. Every ten minutes a change. * 1 hr - reading literature (autobiographies - Davis, Shostakovich, Tarkovsky, Bergman, ...) 1 hr - English * 2 hrs - working on emails and booking concerts, approaching filmmakers * 1 hour - analysis of guitar solos * 30 min. - string plucking * 2 hrs - watch a good film, analyse the music * 1 hour - free playing and improvisationREAD THE DIARY [https://davidkollar.substack.com/p/my-first-diaries-1] This is a public episode.
