Lynn Shue in His Own Words

As part of Donate Life Month in 2018, Cabarrus County Commissioner Lynn Shue sat down for an extensive interview about his experiences as a two-time organ donation recipient and his over 20 years of service as an elected official with the Cabarrus County Board of Education and the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners.  Lynn died on November 5, 2025. He was 71.  His journey taught him to pay special attention to "what matters most." The CabCo EMS MAT Program: Serving, Supporting, Saving

MAT stands for Medication Assisted Treatment. But for many Cabarrus residents, it means so much more. MAT uses FDA-approved medications along with education, resource connection and primary care to help those battling addiction. The program, funded by Cabarrus County’s portion of the national Opioid Settlement Fund, is a collaborative effort to help ensure all residents have a chance to thrive.   On this episode, we’re exploring the inception of the program and providing an inside look at how MAT Community Paramedics are meeting people where they are and providing clients with a life-changing service.
