Acerca de Dinner’s on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson
I’m breaking bread with big-name friends—old and new—for a delicious meal and candid convos that can only happen over a glass of wine. We're getting out of the studio and into my favorite restaurants across Los Angeles and New York City with people like Julie Bowen, Kristen Bell, Fred Armisen, Jesse Williams, Niecy Nash-Betts, and so many more. I know, a celebrity-interview podcast, who’s doing that? No one. Which is why I needed to. We’ll get vulnerable about everything from relationships and family history, to mental health and imposter syndrome. We’ll laugh about my attempted modeling career and being starstruck by Beyoncé. Look, am I saying a chocolate soufflé is going to get me to reveal all my secrets? Yeah. Yeah, I am. So, join me… dinner’s on me. Dinner’s on Me is a production of Sony Music Entertainment and A Kid Named Beckett Productions. Want to be the first to get new episodes of Dinner's on Me? 'Murderbot’ star Noma Dumezweni joins the show. Over pumpkin curry and pad see ew, Noma reflects on the joy of finding success in mid-life and why it’s never too late to dream bigger than you imagined. She opens up about tough days growing up as a refugee in the UK, her unexpected and acclaimed turn (and Tony nominated role) as Hermione Granger in ‘Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,’ and the lessons she’s learned about trusting timing, family, and herself. Noma also talks about becoming a familiar face in prestige TV dramas (‘The Undoing,’ ‘Presumed Innocent’), what it’s like to spar on screen with Alexander Skarsgård in the Apple TV+ sci-fi hit ‘Murderbot,’ and why she loves being in awe of her fellow actors. This episode was recorded at Sukh in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices [https://podcastchoices.com/adchoices]

‘Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale’ star Elizabeth McGovern joins the show. Over Greek snapper, Elizabeth tells me about her critically acclaimed play ‘Ava: The Secret Conversations,’ which she adapted and stars in. We talk about what inhabiting the Hollywood femme fatale taught her. We also discuss her first series regular gig at age 49 as the iconic Cora Crawley in the hit franchise ‘Downton Abbey’, getting an Oscar nomination at age 20 for ‘Ragtime,’ and how director Robert Redford changed production for her Juilliard studies during ‘Ordinary People.’ The episode was recorded at Estiatorio Milos in Hudson Yards, New York City. Writer, director, musician and “How I Met Your Mother” star Josh Radnor joins the show. Over oat milk cortados and bavette steak, I ask him about his new rewatch podcast, How We Made Your Mother, inspired by his wife’s first time watching the series. Josh opens up about the highs and lows of life in an ensemble cast and how, with time and distance, he’s become a genuine fan of the hit sitcom. We dive into everything from his ayahuasca journeys between seasons of the show, to awkward fan encounters. This episode was recorded at Evelina in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Comedian, actor and producer Lilly Singh joins the show. Over bacon and eggs, I ask about her new film ‘DOIN IT,’ a sex comedy seven years in the making that’s as hilarious as it is groundbreaking. Lilly shares the challenges of being seen as “too niche,” why she brought her mom on as a cultural consultant, and how she’s determined to build her own table in Hollywood. We dive into her viral TED Talk on gender equity, the way gratitude is often weaponized against women, and what she carries from her time in late night. This episode was recorded at Lindens at the Arlo Hotel in SoHo, New York City. Want next week’s episode now? Subscribe to Dinner’s on Me PLUS. The incomparable Kristin Scott Thomas—star of “The English Patient,” “Slow Horses,” and now writer-director-star of the deeply personal film “My Mother’s Wedding” – joins the show. Over mushroomy eggs and quiche, we cover her extraordinary career in both English and French -- from her baptism-by-fire debut opposite Prince in “Under the Cherry Moon” to her viral “Fleabag” monologue. Kristin also tells me about reuniting with Scarlett Johansson as her on-screen daughter for the third time, and why Robert Altman’s “Gosford Park” set was both thrilling and intimidating. This episode was recorded at La Mercerie in SoHo, New York City. Want next week’s episode now? Subscribe to Dinner’s on Me PLUS.
