Do We Love...... Being Done?

Did you love that for us? [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2559263/fan_mail/new] Being “done” can be petty, hilarious, and also the healthiest boundary you ever set. We’re celebrating six months of recording and 800 plus downloads, then we jump straight into the real world stuff that’s been testing us lately, including chronic hip pain, the sick day guilt spiral, and a scary heat exhaustion moment that hits right when you think you’re being “responsible” with water, shade, and grit.  From there, we go where we always go when we need a cultural pressure valve: social media. We talk about the weird popularity of hate watching, the way the algorithm rewards chaos, and why a comment section full of praise can be a trap instead of support. Then we zoom out into AI generated videos that look shockingly real, and we ask the question that’s getting harder to avoid: if we can’t tell what’s authentic, how do we protect our attention, our empathy, and our sense of reality?  We also get personal about relationships and the moment you realize effort is one sided, especially when family members pressure you to “fix” something without knowing the full story. And because life never stays in one lane, we end with beekeeping chaos, pet medical decision ethics, and a fun round of dream pets that somehow turns into planning a falconry trip. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a boundary reset, and leave a review telling us what you’re officially done with and how we can finally get a listener in Australia. episode Do We Love.... Girls Day? artwork

Do We Love.... Girls Day?

Did you love that for us? [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2559263/fan_mail/new] The plan was a simple girls day. The reality was a rainy adventure that somehow included house hunting reconnaissance, thrift store chaos, and a McDonald’s dine in experience so wild it felt like live theater. We start with a quick life update that matters to anyone who uses their voice a lot: Heather hits a huge speech therapy milestone and shares the practical habits that actually help, like resisting the throat clear reflex, using water and a hard swallow, and remembering to breathe while talking. Then we jump into a beekeeping update that mixes excitement with brand new beekeeper nerves. Alpha Hive arrives, Queen Dorothy gets named, and a sugar syrup spill triggers the kind of panic only a new hive can bring. With nonstop rain outside, the waiting game gets real, and Bravo Hive is right around the corner. From there, we rewind to Mother’s Day stories and a movie brunch that requires dressing up, then head straight into the main event: the girls day itinerary. We tour an open house for a first time home search, hit furniture and bargain stops, and laugh about the weird feeling of being noticed while trying to shop in peace. And then comes the unexpected highlight: McDonald’s, where app confusion, order drama, and one manager’s breaking point turn into a story you have to hear to believe. We wrap with listener questions and comfort food debate energy, including the classic ketchup on eggs argument, breakfast for dinner preferences, and a fun question about what talent you’d want to wake up with overnight. If you love friendship stories, slice of life comedy, and honest talk about stress, voice health, and small joys, this one is for you. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a laugh, and leave us a review with your take: ketchup on eggs, yes or no? Our Children will never know the joy of self serve fountain drinks

episode Do We Love... Reminiscing artwork

Do We Love... Reminiscing

Did you love that for us? [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2559263/fan_mail/new] The fastest way to time travel is a smell, a taste, or a story you haven’t told in years and we hit all three. We start with real life chaos (recording problems, of course) and a very real update on speech therapy and voice health, including the rules that make daily life oddly hard: no throat clearing, no whispering, and taking breaks before your voice goes rough. If you’ve ever dealt with hoarseness, vocal strain, or a raspy voice, you’ll recognize the struggle immediately. Then we sink into pure reminiscing: the drinks we miss (yes, Zima makes the list), the foods that only a parent or grandparent knew how to make, and the comfort of old-school TV dinners that somehow taste like being a kid. We talk lawn darts, dodgeball, scooters in gym class, and the kind of “normal” that would absolutely not pass today’s safety standards. The stories get specific, because that’s where nostalgia lives: family parties, fast food that used to be messier, and the little details that still make us laugh. And just when you think it’s all comfort and throwbacks, we go straight into mediums, psychics, and a long-running family joke about a “hobo in the closet” that turns into something we didn’t expect. We also share a beekeeping update, what we learned from a bee documentary, and why hive life is both adorable and ruthless. Finish it off with rapid-fire opinions on self-driving cars, electric vs gas vehicles, coffee orders, and cutting your own hair. If you laughed, felt seen, or got a little nostalgic, subscribe, share the episode with a friend, and leave us a review. What’s the one thing from your past you still miss? Do We Love.... May the Fourth be with you

Did you love that for us? [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2559263/fan_mail/new] May the Fourth brings out the best kind of chaos in our house, so we lean all the way in and treat Star Wars like the life language it is. We start with a quick real-life moment about speech therapy and why tone and inflection can flip the meaning of a phrase, then we jump lightspeed into the galaxy that basically raised us. Childhood memories, collecting habits, and the way Star Wars becomes a “common ground” in relationships all show up fast, because if you’re a fan you know it’s never just movies.  Then we get into the important stuff: Ewoks. Are they lovable little rebels or tiny annoying nightmares? We also tackle the Star Wars viewing order question new fans ask every time, from the classic release order to where spin-offs like Rogue One and Solo fit. You’ll hear a family story about a future son-in-law needing to watch the full saga and pass trivia before he can marry in, plus the ultimate commitment move: wedding vows that include Ewokese.  We also talk Disney Star Wars and how it feels to watch the modern era as longtime fans, including reactions to The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ahsoka, The Clone Wars, and why Andor’s gritty style lands differently. We finish with fun Star Wars trivia (yes, Vader is basically multiple people), our personal favorite characters, least favorites, who we relate to most, and a couple listener questions that somehow turn into calendars and weird food combos. Subscribe for more, share this with your Star Wars friend who has opinions, and leave a review. Team Ewok or team “absolutely not”? Our Children will never know the joy of self serve fountain drinks

episode Do We Love... Spring artwork

Do We Love... Spring

Did you love that for us? [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2559263/fan_mail/new] Spring is supposed to feel fresh, but sometimes it just feels like sneezing, pressure headaches, and waiting for the trees to finally wake up. We get real about what spring looks like where we live, why allergy season can hit so hard, and how the weather can mess with your body in ways that are hard to explain until you start tracking it. We also go deep on sleep, from chaotic stories like sleep talking and nighttime “blanket attacks” to the surprisingly addictive world of wearable health trackers. We compare sleep score data, REM and deep sleep, sleep latency, recovery, resting heart rate, and HRV, plus the good and bad of checking your numbers. Helpful insight or a device telling you how to feel? We try to keep it honest and practical. Then we pivot to AI, both the kind students might use for writing and the kind we use to summarize articles, translate complicated forms into plain English, and help us spot patterns like barometric pressure changes linked to Eustachian tube pain and migraines. If you’re juggling spring allergies, sleep tracking, symptom logging, spring cleaning motivation, and the reality of AI everywhere, you’ll feel seen. Subscribe for more, share this with a friend who “feels the weather,” and leave a review telling us what spring does to your sleep and your sanity.
