In this inspiring Down with Dean episode, Superintendent Lamond Dean sits down with Chapel Hill High School senior Sebastian Medina, a student whose story embodies determination, leadership, and heart. Sebastian came to America in fifth grade and, after visiting several school districts, found his home at Chapel Hill ISD. Since then, he’s become a shining example of what it means to be a Bulldog—excelling in cross country, track, and band, while also serving as a student ambassador who’s always eager to help others. With three consecutive trips to cross country regionals, Sebastian’s success is matched only by his humility and kindness. Superintendent Dean and Sebastian talk about his journey, the lessons he’s learned through athletics and music, and how Chapel Hill has helped him grow both academically and personally. This episode celebrates student voice, resilience, and the power of community in shaping future leaders.
