Descripción

You may remember sitting through a painful meeting at work or a boring class in school where, after several minutes, your mind began to drift to other things. But just before that daydream, you may have been thinking, “Come on, man – we’ve heard this – skip the fluff and get right to the meat. Enough sloganeering” (yeah, it’s a word). We hear overused slogans so much that sometimes we become numb to them. But sometimes, we really need to stop and revisit ones that truly are important. Listen in as Pastor Brady begins a 3-week series called “More Than A Slogan” with the first message entitled “It Starts with Your Head”. Key Scriptures: Mark: 12:29-30, Deuteronomy 6:4-9, John 8:31-58, Philippians 4:8, Romans 8:5-6 ffbic.org [http://ffbic.org/students] Facebook: Five Forks Church Instagram: FFBICChurch Intro/Outro Music: Sunday Mornin' Pleasure - Briar Edwards

Getting to the Heart of the Matter (More Than a Slogan - Week 2)

For a very long time, humans have identified the heart as the center or seat of our emotions. Jesus said that those things that take priority in our hearts is what we really treasure the most. The question each of us needs to answer is, will what we prioritize make any eternal difference in our lives or in the lives of those around us? Maybe we need to set aside our wants and desires, dig a little deeper, and let the One that loves us the most take first place in our hearts. Listen in as Pastor Brady continues his 3-week series called “More Than A Slogan” with the second installment entitled “Getting to the Heart of the Matter”. The Best Un-Training Meal (Energized for Action - Week 4)

In the 1890’s, Ivan Pavlov became famous for his psychological studies on the training of organisms, namely dogs. He discovered that they can be trained to react to a neutral stimulus (by the ringing of a bell) if it is regularly paired with a meaningful one (like a delicious treat). Likewise, our lives have been trained by the “dinner bells” of our modern culture instead of being sensitive to the nudges of the Holy Spirit. Listen in as Pastor Ray continues our year-long theme of becoming “Energized for Action” with this week’s message entitled “The Best Un-Training Meal.” It’s not about persuading God for something, but all about our response to His blessings. The Love That Shapes the Heart (Energized for Action - Week 3)

Every one of us is being shaped by something. Our habits, our fears, and our ambitions all leave an imprint on who we are. But what happens when we allow the Master of the universe to be the primary architect of our souls? In a world that often leaves us feeling worn down or hollow, we’ll explore how the relentless, unconditional love of God acts as a master craftsman—softening the hard places, healing the broken pieces, and molding us into who we were truly meant to be. Listen in as Pastor Larry continues our year-long theme of becoming “Energized for Action” with the Mother’s Day message entitled “The Love That Shapes the Heart.” Key Scriptures: 1 John 4:7-12, 1 Cor. 13:4-13 ffbic.org [http://ffbic.org/students] Facebook: Five Forks Church Instagram: FFBICChurch Intro/Outro Music: Sunday Mornin' Pleasure - Briar Edwards

episode Simplicity in Our Spiritual World (Simplicity: Finding Peace - Week 3) artwork

Simplicity in Our Spiritual World (Simplicity: Finding Peace - Week 3)

In the days before GPS, a ship leaving the port of Philadelphia headed for a specific point in Europe would have its course plotted to ensure it arrived at the correct location. But a small heading error at the start of just 2 degrees without periodic adjustments over a distance of about 3100 miles would put the ship’s arrival about 109 miles away from its intended destination. That’s the cost of the navigator not being in constant communication with the pilot. The same applies to our spiritual journeys. We need constant course corrections by the Holy Spirit navigator to make sure we don’t clutter our spiritual lives with unnecessary and potentially harmful consequences. Listen in as Pastor Ray finishes up his 3-week series on Simplicity: Finding Peace by Uncluttering Your Life.
