EP 88: God's Surprising Move Among Young Men with Dean, Jordan & Chris

A recent article in Relevant magazine explored the idea that God seems to be doing something new among young men in our midst. So what is He up to? Where is He doing it? And what should pastors and men's ministry leaders know about how to lean in to what He’s doing? In this episode of our newly formatted Impactus podcast, Dean, Jordan, and Chris sit down for a fascinating conversation about this phenomenon, celebrating what the Lord is doing, and discussing what it means for men, men’s ministry, and the Church! Introducing the Next Season of the Impactus Podcast

On today’s episode, Dean and Jordan share some exciting news. The Impactus Podcast is entering a new season, one that we believe will make an even greater impact on men’s lives. Dean Brenton is joined by Jordan Harnum and Dr. Chris Walker as they come together to create a podcast that is practical, theologically grounded, and deeply relevant to the real questions men are asking today. We’re also moving to a fresh new rhythm—releasing episodes twice a month, on the first and fifteenth. That means more consistent encouragement and more opportunities for men to grow in their walk with Christ. In this episode, Dean and Jordan give a behind-the-scenes look at what’s changing, what’s staying the same, and what listeners can expect as they step into this exciting next chapter. EP 86: When Money is a Tool, Not a Goal with Colin Kirby

Did you know nearly 1 in 3 Canadians are short of money each month? Or that if you’re experiencing financial stress, you’re twice as likely to report poor health; four times more likely to suffer from sleep issues, headaches, and other ailments, including heart disease, high blood pressure, depression, and anxiety; and you’ll be more prone to relationship strain? If any of that resonates with you, gentlemen, you are not alone. Financial worries about job insecurity, tariffs, market fluctuations, and recession fears are common for most men. It’s hard to avoid money-related anxiety while staying balanced and planning ahead. If this sounds familiar, this month’s podcast will be a helpful conversation! Colin Kirby is a Financial Planner from Waterloo, ON, with over 25 years of experience and a strong belief that faith and finances can and should align. Join us for this stimulating conversation as Colin shares his story and teaches us some practical and biblical financial wisdom. Colin and Dean discuss topics such as: * How faith and finances intersect, and how our faith and the Scriptures should inform our understanding of money * How to navigate fear and anxiety in our finances with all of the economic pressure and turmoil in the world * A discussion of Colin’s five financial principles for creating a healthy financial life and finding peace and contentment * Some practical steps that any man can take to walk with God in trust in this area Check Our Resources for Men: https://impactus.org/resources/ [https://impactus.org/resources/] Follow us on Social Media: * Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/impactusmen/] * Instagram [https://instagram.com/impactusmen/] * LinkedIn [https://www.linkedin.com/company/impactusmen/] * Twitter [https://twitter.com/impactusmen] * This Is Me TV [https://www.youtube.com/user/ThisIsMeTVShow]

episode EP 85: A Winning Strategy for Marriage with George & Tondra Gregory artwork
EP 85: A Winning Strategy for Marriage with George & Tondra Gregory

No engaged or married couple enters their relationship intending to fail, but many start marriage without a strategy or understanding of what it takes for a marriage to succeed. Without that plan, marriages can struggle for years, with men never quite sure what to do to break out of the rut. George and Tondra Gregory have been married for 30 years through many ups and downs. They draw on their own experience to help couples develop a personalized plan for marital success through their book The Marriage Game Plan [https://amzn.to/446tDam]. George and Tondra serve as the official chaplains for the NFL’s Los Angeles Chargers and previously served the New York Jets and New York Giants. They have offered life and marriage coaching to hundreds of professional athletes, coaches, and their families. They’ve led the marriage ministry at Saddleback Church and founded Journey for Life [https://journeyforlifenow.org/], a ministry dedicated to helping couples. Dean and the Gregorys have a fascinating conversation, discussing things like: * Their own marital journey, with all of its struggles and eventual healing * How their marriage has helped them serve as chaplains to athletes in the NFL * How their new book came together and what it teaches about God’s purposes for marriage * Why rest and recovery are so crucial to a marriage * The mystery of “two becoming one” in marriage, and practically how two lives can integrate into one relationship * Why humility is so essential to a man’s life and marriage Join us for all this and more on this edition of the Impactus podcast! episode EP 84: The Way and the Voice of Jesus with Jason Ballard artwork
EP 84: The Way and the Voice of Jesus with Jason Ballard

More information is being created and shared today than ever before, leading to a vast, ever-expanding ocean of information and data. We are bombarded and shaped by voices from social media influencers, YouTubers, and podcast hosts. And yes, you’re listening to a podcast today, so you can add Impactus into the mix of voices! But how can we be wise and discerning enough to audit and edit the voices we let in? In Philippians 1:9-10, the apostle Paul said: “And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ.” How can we gain that kind of knowledge and discernment so we can approve what is excellent vs. what is unhelpful or untruthful? How can we incorporate rhythms and space in our lives to be men who are rooted in Christ? This topic emerged at our conference in Edmonton and culminated in a powerful, divine moment as our speaker shared and prayed for the men in attendance. That speaker was none other than our podcast guest, Jason Ballard. Jason is a pastor at The Way Church [https://www.thewaychurch.ca/] in Vancouver, Canada. He also serves as the Executive Director of The Pastorate [https://www.thepastorate.ca/], formerly known as the Canadian Church Leaders Network (CCLN), and hosts The Pastorate podcast, where he engages in conversations that strengthen the hearts of pastors and share stories from the Church in Canada. In this meaningful conversation, we’ll learn about Jason’s powerful ministry, how to be deeply rooted in Christ, and how to listen to Christ as the ultimate Teacher and voice in our busy lives. https://impactus.org/ [https://impactus.org/] Check Our Resources for Men: https://impactus.org/resources/ [https://impactus.org/resources/] ---------------------------------------------- Follow us on Social Media Facebook [https://www.facebook.com/impactusmen/]  Instagram [https://instagram.com/impactusmen/]  LinkedIn [https://www.linkedin.com/company/impactusmen/]  Twitter [https://twitter.com/impactusmen]  This Is Me TV [https://www.youtube.com/user/ThisIsMeTVShow] Copyright © 2025 Impactus.
