For 40-years, Mountain Stage has introduced public radio listeners to the best of live performance music from its home stage in Charleston, West Virginia. In celebration of the show's 40th Anniversary there's a new compilation album that releases on April 19, 2024. Larry talks about Live on Mountain Stage: Outlaws & Outliers. Mountain Stage airs on WSIU Saturday at 5:00pm and Sunday at 10:00 am.

Dr. Evan Dellon is the Director of the UNC Center for Esphageal Diseases and Swallowing. He talks about one of the fastest growing digestive diseases in the U.S. EoE affects an estimated 1 in 700 people. It's symptoms include difficulty swallowing, food getting stuck, and pain when eating. EoE can disrupt daily life, create anxiety around meals, and lead to food impaction. Josh Shepperd is an assistant professor at the University Colorado Boulder and the Director of the Sound Submission Project at the Library of Congress. He talked with WSIU's Jeff Williams about his book “Shadow of the New Deal: The Victory of Public Broadcasting."
