Bugonia

Bugonia, directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons is now streaming, so we watch it! As a sci-fi dark-reality remake, it’s not common fare for Lanthimos, but the social commentary and unsettling conspiratorial tone are very, very familiar.  Did you wonder if Stone's Michelle was actually an alien? Who was the real protagonist? And did the metaphors land well enough to earn Bugonia an Academy Award?
