Understanding Kerala Elections 2026

Greetings to all listeners and readers!! Kerala Elections 2026 are now at the doorstep. It is eminent to discuss the elections-LDF 2.0, the opposition UDF, BJP, and NDA, debates on the developments, as well as the controversies. The last elections were a game-changer in Kerala politics when the ruling LDF came back to power with even a bigger mandate in 2021.  The last five years were marked by political developments, controversies, and much more. Now we have three strong alliances, UDF, LDF, and NDA, with more parties than ever before. Most polls show a very tight race, a neck-and-neck fight, making social coalitions, candidates, and other issues that make or break this election. Kerala Politics: Countdown to Elections 2026

Currently, the results of the Nilambur Elections have changed the dynamics of Politics in the state. Largely, the politics in Kerala has been centred around the UDF-LDF duopoly, but the rise of the BJP through Christian outreach, and the winning of Suresh Gopi MP in Thrissur. The ruling LDF is facing massive anti-incumbency, but at the same time is trying for an LDF 3.0. UDF, which has lost two successive Assembly elections, is trying to make a big comeback.
