They also relate on how much Puerto Rican culture means to them and how upon reconnecting with the island of Puerto Rico allowed them to feel a sense of wholeness they had not felt before. Ermias wants to return to Puerto Rico after spending a difficult time during COVID in Carolina to study at UPR and is passionate about preserving about Afro-Latino culture saying, "Afro-Puerto Rican history is more than just slavery and Bomba".
