The Gender Yap Podcast
Sex Worker Exclusionary-- and Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists believe they're helping the cause by limiting the rights of other specific subgroups of women, but they're actually participating in a deep-seated form of misogyny that was invented by the patriarchy to prevent women from expressing themselves or achieving financial independence on their own! By limiting the rights of other women, they slowly allow the system to chip away at their own rights, leading to a horrific world where women are once again fully subjugated under the thumbs of MEN! After noticing that she got along well with a lot of trans people, Laura realized that many of the ways that society, men, and a certain brand of feminist treats trans people was VERY similar to the way that those same people treated strippers and other full-service sex workers. The ideologies come from the same place: separate women into subgroups, then determine which groups qualify as "real women" or "traitors," and then fight to limit the rights of the "non-women" in an attempt to boost the rights of the "real" ones. It's purity politics at its finest, and it's a conservative viewpoint that views the world through a deeply patriarchal lens--one where women are slaves, men are on top, and no one has any chance for independence or freedom.
