Episode 151: Learn the Art of Kind Communication with Rachel Petty part 2 of 2

Last week we uncovered why people often hear something completely different than what we intended to say. Today, we're taking the next step. Rachel Petty is back to help us put these communication principles into practice. From leading volunteers to navigating conflict, parenting, and strengthening your closest relationships, the goal is to give you practical tools to communicate with greater kindness, clarity, and confidence. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself thinking about this conversation long after the episode ends. Have you ever walked away from a conversation thinking, "That is NOT what I meant!" Or found yourself leading a team, parenting your kids, or navigating conflict only to repeatedly feel like everyone seems to be hearing something completely different from what I am trying to say? Today's guest is going to help us understand why. Rachel Petty from Kathleen Edelman's "I Said This, You Heard That" team joins us to unpack how understanding temperament can completely transform the way we communicate. Whether you're leading a homeschool co-op, working with volunteers, parenting your kids, or simply trying to build healthier relationships, this conversation will give you practical tools to speak in ways that build trust, reduce conflict, and strengthen your community. You won't want to miss this one. Thanks for listening! We help homeschool leaders grow lasting community built on Christ, connection, and strong leadership.    Next Steps:  Get the book: I Said This You Heard That - Amazon Link [https://www.amazon.com/Said-This-You-Heard-That/dp/B0DT7CCF8H/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3B8698QI5G7QV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.e_XtNdQ6QDxZO0hDc0dr4AOqrqsO17LU1X5B48eiFq0rgnMVklIYu1BSOBw7gAzQKd-ZWm_V9tAyQ3WeZzdUvuUVPFS1ACdYEQA5zZMp6AKL5sPWnUf1PZC7fkEein9S3PpfZ3CdrFhplo8eaqZQi7MzlDqqXkcryDVg1C5WhGtaH4hS6N05nY8qoxMYYN4NCygUm5AWwPenwcmoqwzVAnFL2szp69ZoeAuhSmTqO58.OJygN3aqgdJmc8PrsthFksvIqiVzAGJjG8jldFORkVc&dib_tag=se&keywords=i+said+this+you+heard+that&qid=1782746378&sprefix=i+said+this+%2Caps%2C223&sr=8-1] Download the app: HERE [https://apps.apple.com/us/app/i-said-you-heard/id6757619019] Take the assessment - CLICK HERE [https://assessment.isaidyouheard.com/purchase-options?lang=en] - Bulk pricing available   Schedule a coaching call:  https://homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com/ [https://homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com/] Join our Facebook group- Lead Your Homeschool Co-op https://www.facebook.com/groups/72507320516066 [https://www.facebook.com/groups/7250732051606613/] Become a Lead Your Homeschool Co-op Insider and get first dibs on valuable resources to help you lead, organize, and connect your community.  https://homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com/contact/ [https://homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com/contact/] Contact us! info@homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com [info@homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com]

Episode 149: What Every Leader Needs to be Successful. It's Not What You Think.

Leaders, have you ever felt like you needed someone to talk to but there was no one you felt you could confide in? Maybe you're wrestling with a difficult decision, looking for fresh ideas, or simply wondering if anyone else understands the weight you're carrying. Who do you go to when your board is tired too? What if one conversation with another leader could save you hours of frustration, provide resources you didn't know existed, or simply remind you that you're not alone? In this episode, we're talking about why every homeschool leader needs connection beyond their own board and how community with other leaders can make this journey worth it! Episode 148: The Difference Between a Leader and a Person in Charge

When you think of a leader, what is the first thing that comes to mind? Someone who is charismatic? Someone who can take charge? Maybe someone who seems to have it all together or is exceptionally smart? We often mistake these qualities for leadership. While they can be helpful, they don't define a leader. True leaders come in all shapes, personalities, and backgrounds. When we look at Scripture, we see leaders who were bold, leaders who were hesitant, leaders who were gifted communicators, and leaders who felt completely inadequate. What made them effective wasn't their personality or natural ability—it was their willingness to trust God, follow His leading, and faithfully serve others. In this episode, we're going to explore three biblical characteristics that set great leaders apart. Thanks for listening! Episode 147: Scholarship Funds - Can Your Co-op Afford to be Generous

A listener recently asked us a question that many homeschool co-ops eventually face: What do you do when a family wants to participate… but simply can’t afford the fees? Should co-ops offer scholarships or benevolence funds? If they do, how do you decide who receives help? Where does the money come from? And how do you create a system that is both compassionate and sustainable? If your co-op has ever wrestled with balancing generosity and responsibility, this conversation is for you. Bible verse: Galatians 6:2 “Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” Next Steps:  Schedule a coaching call:  https://homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com/ [https://homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com/] Join our Facebook group- Lead Your Homeschool Co-op https://www.facebook.com/groups/72507320516066 [https://www.facebook.com/groups/7250732051606613/] Become a Lead Your Homeschool Co-op Insider and get first dibs on valuable resources to help you lead, organize, and connect your community.  https://homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com/contact/ [https://homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com/contact/] Contact us! info@homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com [info@homeschoolcommunitybuilders.com]
