Nigeria’s Corruption & Classism, Trauma & Life in America After 24 Years

Season 2 starts with the realest version of me. In this episode, I open up about a decision that might be hard for some people to understand — after 24 years in the United States, I don’t see myself ever returning to Nigeria. This isn’t coming from a place of hate, but from lived experience. I talk about the realities I grew up around, as well as the realities of the average Nigerian - including corruption, living conditions, classism, and more. I also dive into something more personal — childhood trauma, and the lasting impact it had on my nervous system. For a long time, I stayed busy, but I’ve recently taken a step back to reset, reflect, and take care of my mental health. This episode is about truth, healing, and perspective. I speak on gratitude — for the opportunity to be in a different environment, and for the people who made that possible. At the same time, I’m learning to take my energy back from people, places, and situations that no longer serve me. More than anything, this is me stepping into who I truly am — unapologetically. This feels like the first time I’m fully showing up as myself. Welcome to Season 2.

The Realities of Motherhood: The Joys, Struggles, and Untold Truths

In this heartfelt episode, I dive into the beautiful complexities of motherhood—the highs, the lows, and everything in between. I explore the powerful connection that binds us as mothers, focusing on the shared experiences that unite us rather than the differences that set us apart. As we navigate the love and joy of motherhood, I also touch on the feelings of loss and self-doubt that can creep in along the way. I encourage moms to merge their individual journeys and find communities that lift them up, validate their experiences, and remind them that they are not alone. I also talk about losing your spark—something many of us face—and the personal path to rediscovering it. This episode is an open invitation to reflect, connect, and remember that motherhood is both a journey of self-discovery and a testament to the strength of the collective. Join me as we share, support, and empower each other through this beautiful, yet challenging, chapter of life.
