Growing up on the streets of Detroit, Michigan he experienced dysfunction like many kids. Determined to succeed, many obstacles remained. Maurice attended nine different schools from K-12; unfortunately, he entered foster care at age 15 and aged out of the foster care system at 21. Maurice credits a number of caregivers such as his grandmother, social workers and mentors along the way for influencing his decision  to seek greatness. Maurice has been married to his college sweetheart, LyAshia, for more than seventeen years and they have three beautiful daughters, Kensley, Trinity and Serenity. Maurice and LyAshia own and operate a Commercial Pavement Marking company which has been recognized both by local and national magazines. In addition to their business ventures, Maurice and LyAshia are very involved in their community and supporting the development of healthy individuals and families. Both he and his wife are certified parents through the Boys Town of America extensive teaching program. In 2021, LyAshia and Maurice became the first married couple to receive the distinguished Pacesetters Award from their Alma Mater, Ferris State University. Maurice is also the director of a Men's Ministry at his local church. His passion for being a great father has led him to speak to business groups as well as local churches about fatherhood. Maurice enjoys restoring classic cars, road biking, and good movies. He is a necessary asset in today's generation of building people to be better in life.
