It is one thing to depoliticize issues such as religion or race at the highest levels. But what happens to everyday people in the meantime? Communities around the world witnessed spikes in atrocities against Jewish, Asian and Muslim communities – to name a few – due to harmful misperceptions and stereotypes that persist in our society. Mistaken Identities finds these everyday people and talks to them about their experiences of not only navigating harmful bias and ignorance, but how these experiences make them more resolute in their missions to live peacefully together.
