Episode 6: Dr. Matt Henry DO - The Ultrarunner (Family Medicine)

Matt grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan. We actually met during an ultramarathon race in Chicago and at the time didn't know that we were both doctors! Matt is so kind and disarming that he could have a conversation with anyone (this probably aids in his profession of being a doctor). That being said, he has faced some trials and tribulations. He initially was going through a psychiatry residency program and had to make a tough decision to change specialities two years into the program. When he did this, he had to take a full year off of medicine, not knowing if he would match into family medicine. Not only did he match in Family Medicine for his residency program, the program was also located in Chicago which is where he is practicing now. Episode 5: Dr. Max Isaac DO - Long Island and Long Distance (Internal Medicine)

Dr. Max Isaac is a third year resident in the Internal Medicine Department at the University of Missouri – Columbia. Max grew up in Commack, NY, a town of 30,000 inhabitants. He’s a family man and a man of faith. He grew up playing basketball with his brother and then transitioned to fencing during his sophomore year of high school. He rapidly progressed through the sport and qualified for the junior Olympics in the category of Sabre. Max’s expierence in fencing allows him to make quick decisions when put under pressure, which has helped him  when caring for patients in the hospital. Max’s medical journey is one of distance. He was accepted into William Carey Medical school in MIssippippi which is 1,600 miles from home. Isolated from his support structure, Max had to make new friends and struggled in the first two courses of medical school. Questioning if he really belonged in the medical field, Max changed his studious mindset and finished in the top third of his class. He then went to the University of Missouri for Internal Medicine and that’s where we met. The conversation with Max today on the podcast gives you a blink into life as a resident, especially, the difficulties faced with new residents during Coronavirus pandemic. It’s so inspiring to talk with Max today after all the stories we have shared together in and out of the hospital. Episode 4: Dr. Andi Jordan Perloff DO - Small Hands, Big Plans (Orthopedic Surgery)

Dr. Andi Jordan Perloff DO PGY-3 Orthopedic Surgery Grew up playing soccer Andi gravitated into the field of medicine after taking a life-changing position working with the Peace Corps. She signed up for a 27-month commitment in the healthcare sector. She was assigned to the island of Fiji where she focused on creating a new sewage system. Andi interacted with native Fijians and became very close with them. She became so close that one of her friends, named Law, had a baby boy and named him after Andi (his name is Jordan for Andi's middle name).  This conversation with Andi was such an enjoyable one and I hope you like it as well!!! Episode 2: Camille Jolibois RN, INHC - The Phoenix (Registered Nurse and Health Coach)

Camille Jolibois is a Registered Nurse and Health Coach currently working at Premier Integrative Health in North Kansas City. She grew up performing on stage and you’ll find that her positive energy is contagious. Her journey into medicine started with a personal story. 3 days after her 18th birthday, she felt ill and ended up in the Intensive Care Unit with Acute Renal Failure. She will share the entirety of the story here today on the podcast. Her interests outside of medicine involve personal improvement. Which leads to her passion in medicine of empowering patients to take control of chronic disease, including type 2 diabetes, irritable bowel syndrome and many more.
