Descripción

This week on Nonsense in the Chaos, I climbed a tree. After finding myself peopled out and carrying the lingering sadness that can follow when alcohol leaves our closest relationships feeling a little bruised and out of tune, I spent the day perched among the branches, seeking refuge in the way I always have. From childhood memories of running away into nature and escaping the pressures of school, to reflections on the complicated dance of connection, solitude and belonging, this is an episode about finding your way back to yourself when life feels a little tangled. High in the canopy, I interview the tree I call Satine. Through three tarot cards, Satine offers her wisdom, and what begins as a playful conversation slowly unfolds into exactly the advice I needed to hear. An episode about trees, childhood, sadness, healing, and the quiet guidance that appears when we stop long enough to listen. episode #83 Facing Your Demons of the Abyss artwork

#83 Facing Your Demons of the Abyss

This week on Nonsense in the Chaos, we're venturing into the abyss. Not the dramatic, mythic kind filled with monsters and ancient gods... but the very real places within ourselves we'd rather avoid. For me, the demon waiting in the dark is money. The stories I carry about worth, security, success and scarcity have a habit of resurfacing whenever I think I've finally made peace with them. Yet every descent into the underworld offers the same invitation: to stop running, turn around, and meet what is chasing us. Together we'll explore what it means to face our personal demons, why the abyss so often appears before transformation, and how the things we fear most can become our greatest teachers. So what waits for you in the dark? Join me as we step into the depths and discover what treasures might be hidden there. #82 Nurturing Curiosity; AJ and Exploring the Healing Power of Nature

This week on Nonsense in the Chaos, I’m joined by the wonderful AJ... a curious soul walking the delicate line between care, academia, activism and joy. Working within the NHS as a mental health nurse supporting families in a deeply pressured system, AJ brings both compassion and honesty to the conversation. Currently completing the first two years of her doctorate, with her thesis beginning in September, AJ’s research explores how healthcare staff can help reconnect people with nature, and why that matters so profoundly in a time of climate crisis and collective burnout. We talk about climate justice, the healing power of the natural world, dancing, festivals, learning, and what it means to celebrate the sheer privilege of being alive amidst the chaos of modern life. A thoughtful, grounded and quietly inspiring conversation. #81 Gemini Season and the Wheels Coming off the Train!

Turns out the HRT was working… because when it ran out unexpectedly last Friday, the wheels fully came off the train. Add getting ill on top, and this week’s podcast has arrived slightly later than usual. In the new episode of Nonsense in the Chaos I’m talking about grounding and recalibrating during the busy headiness of Gemini Season, tending the home fires, avoiding burnout, and how to begin again after finishing a big piece of work and entering a new cycle. A slightly frazzled but heartfelt one this week. episode #80 Meeting Pachamamma; Shaman Ben and  Being a Guardian of the Land artwork

#80 Meeting Pachamamma; Shaman Ben and  Being a Guardian of the Land

This week on Nonsense in the Chaos, I’m joined by Ben the Shaman, who opened this year’s La Beltane Festival in the middle of a thunderstorm. As torrential rain lashed the valley and festival-goers huddled beneath the gazebo, Ben stepped directly into the storm to bless the land, calling to Pachamama, spirit, the heavens and the directions. Slowly the rain softened, the skies cleared, and the festival unfolded in sunshine from that moment onward. We talk about ritual, healing, community, land connection, and why gatherings like La Beltane — and a deeper relationship with the land itself — feel so deeply needed in the modern world.
