OLYMPUS - cosmos, miths and self-awareness
"3671 Dionysus" is a small near-Earth asteroid discovered in 1984. It has an orbit that passes relatively close to that of Earth and is therefore monitored, although there is no immediate risk of impact. Dionysus is the Greek god of wine, ecstasy, and transformation, reborn multiple times between life and death and associated with rituals of liberation. Dionysus represents emotional and instinctive frenzy, which causes stress, overload that spills over, and emotions that can no longer be contained. At the same time, he offers a cathartic outlet, releasing tension through expression and surrender. He is therefore both the cause of inner chaos and the path to dissolving it when it is experienced and integrated. In our daily lives, we are often dominated and overwhelmed by impulses and external judgments that lead to a frantic lifestyle and induce stress. A possible approach, therefore, is to detach ourselves from what happens and focus on how we choose to live... In particular: slowing down and carefully choosing priorities (rather than frantically chasing everything); accepting the unpredictability of life, and instead focusing on a meditative activity (training ourselves in calmness) that helps us gain mastery over our thoughts.
