De La Casa and The Bunker - the international DJ scene- OTM005

Welcome to the On the Mezzanine Podcast with Milly Murray!  I will be exploring the lives of creatives across London from industries such as music, DJing, food and drink, drag, performing arts and much more all filmed live in the Mezzanine bar in Tooting Market.  In the fifth episode I interview Oscar Skehel, founder of events brand De La Casa and Juan Vega founder of events brand The Bunker. This episode was filmed just before Oscar and Juan collaborate for the first time at the Mezzanine and also meet for the first time in person!  De La Casa is about house party vibes in great venues. They bring people together over a shared love of music and love nurturing upcoming talent - especially female DJs! The Bunker started in Madrid and their mission is to offer unforgettable experiences that connect people through rhythm and an authentic atmosphere. We discuss building a network and supporting other DJs, getting into the flow of a B2B, running events internationally, close relationships and trustworthiness in the music scene, should you take requests and tattoos of Tooting postcodes.  Your host- hey I’m Milly, I started this podcast because I love dance music, performing arts, food and know so many people doing amazing things who deserve to share their stories! I run dance music party collective Furzenights and totally believe that the future of nightlife and culture relies on grassroots creatives.  This podcast is sponsored by the Mezzanine bar in Tooting Market. The Mezzanine is an independent venue pioneering dance music in Tooting. Every weekend they host a variety of unique music events showcasing local talent, as well as cabaret, open deck vinyl nights and private events.  I would always recommend the Mezzanine’s unique tequila bar with a range of southern Californian and Mexican inspired premium cocktails.
