This week we celebrate a big one, James' 50th birthday, with a party that will take some beating. We open the doors on the shed for the first time to see it transformed, with the combines lined up as the centre piece, a disco ball overhead and 450 friends ready to dance. There is food cooked over the fire pits, two bands, and the now famous tale of just how many bags of oak it really takes to cook for a crowd that size. Once the celebrations are behind us, it is back to business. We are at Cereals 2026, and what a show it was. In this episode we take you behind the scenes of our first time exhibiting, from setting up the Trailer of Dreams late into the night to two busy days on the RAGT stand with the beer flowing and the merchandise selling fast.It was wonderful to meet so many familiar faces, and we were honoured to sit down with the President of the NFU for an honest conversation about the issues facing the industry, from long term tenancies and stamp duty to investment allowances and the future of farm support. We also got on stage to talk grain marketing, the pitfalls and the successes, and caught up with friends, sponsors and customers from right across farming.Away from the stand we got hands on with some of the most exciting innovation at the show, including the launch of a new hybrid wheat with remarkable rooting, the robotic crop scouting "robo dogs," and the data platforms that could change how we farm. The Final Push for Cereals 2026, and Rain at Last After Nine Weeks Dry

With Cereals 2026 just days away, it is all hands on deck to get the Trailer of Dreams onto site and show ready. In this episode we lay a woodchip path to keep the mud at bay, load up the merchandise, and get the beer, the gin and the branded barrels ready for the stand. After nine weeks of dry weather we also finally get the rain we have been praying for, and we look at what almost 100mm could mean for the crops and for harvest, with the barley already changing colour. Back at base, work continues on the new fertiliser store, where we walk through the bund and containment system built to catch any spill, and tell the cautionary tale of a leak that took years to put right. We also host a group of Nuffield Global Focus scholars from around the world, hear the topics they are researching, and welcome a busy day of international visitors before everyone heads to the show. The Trailer of Dreams Is Finally Ready for Cereals, and a Leap of Faith in France

After months of work, the Trailer of Dreams is finally coming together ahead of Cereals 2026. In this episode we get inside for the full transformation, from the bar and seating area to the merchandise space and the wrap, as the team work flat out to get it show ready and onto a very muddy site in time.
