Sobre Paul C. Jong’s Spiritual Growth Series 3 - The First Epistle of John (Ⅰ)

If you are a true Christian, you should know God's love more than just abstractly. Those who know and believe Jesus as their Savior must know God's love concretely in their remission of sins that was accomplished through the gospel Word of the water and the Spirit. We have to become true believers of this true gospel in order to know God's love in depth. In this true gospel, the love of God manifests itself concretely and in detail. If we are to know God as love, our knowledge has to come from God's concrete love for us that is revealed in the gospel Truth of the water and the Spirit. Only then can we lead others to the true love of God. The Apostle John testifies that Jesus Christ, who came by the water, the blood, and the Holy Spirit, is the Savior and God Himself. The essence of his testimony is the Truth of the remission of sin, which belongs to the water, the blood, and the Holy Spirit. As it is written in the Word of God, the water signifies Jesus' baptism that He received from John the Baptist, and the blood signifies the judgment He received for all our sins. Again, the evidence of our salvation lies in the Holy Spirit, the water, and the blood (1 John 5:8). The ministries of the water, the blood, and the Holy Spirit are those of God through which He has delivered sinners from all their sins.

Ch1-1_Jesus Christ Is God (1 John 1:1-10)

For us to understand 1 John, we must all first know Jesus properly, who is God Himself. All of us must stand firmly on the rock of this faith that truly knows and believes in Jesus Christ as God. To know and believe in Jesus the God as our Savior necessarily means that we would know that He is the God who created us. For all of us, Jesus Christ is fundamentally the Creator God and our perfect Savior. So for God the Father, Jesus is His only begotten Son, while for us, He has become our true Savior. It is when we all know Jesus Christ as God that we can encounter the true light of salvation and believe in it as well.   https://www.bjnewlife.org/  [https://www.bjnewlife.org/] https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission  [https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission] https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35  [https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35]

Ch1-4_Confession in Truth (1 John 1:8-10)

Not long ago, we had Holy Communion in our church, where we once again ruminated on the meaning of the bread and wine that we shared. Along with the baptism of the believers, the sacrament of Holy Communion is one of two sacraments that our Lord commanded to us to keep. One thing that we must realize through Holy Communion is that He has blotted out all our sins through the baptism that He received on His body and the blood that He shed. When the Lord told us to “remember” the bread and wine in Holy Communion, He meant that we should believe and remember His baptism and bloodshed in our hearts.   https://www.bjnewlife.org/  [https://www.bjnewlife.org/] https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission  [https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission] https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35  [https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35]

Ch2-1_Jesus Christ Is the True God (1 John 2:1-5)

In 1 John 2:1, the Apostle John says, “My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin.” He explains that the purpose behind his writing of 1 John is so that the saints would not commit the sins of not believing in Jesus, the true God. In the phrase from this passage, “so that you may not sin,” ‘sin’ here indicates ‘the sin leading to death’ (1 John 5:16). John wants all the saints to stand firm on the gospel of the water and the Spirit. He also wants them to believe that Jesus Christ is God Himself, the Son of God, and also the Savior who took away our sins.   https://www.bjnewlife.org/  [https://www.bjnewlife.org/] https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission  [https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission] https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35  [https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35]
