The Layers of Success: Building Sweet Dreams with Deanna Hinsz

In this episode of Recipe to Succeed, I’m joined by the inspiring Deanna Hinsz, a social media strategist and entrepreneur who’s perfected the art of personal branding and storytelling. Deanna shares her journey of building a successful business while staying true to her passions and values. Together, we explore the 'secret ingredients' to crafting a meaningful career and the importance of authenticity in connecting with your audience. As a special treat, Deanna brings her personal recipe for a timeless classic: Tiramisu. Much like her approach to success, this dessert is about finding balance, layering the right elements, and letting it all come together beautifully. Try it for yourself with the recipe below! Recipe: Tiramisu Ingredients: * 6 large egg yolks * ¾ cup granulated sugar * 1 cup mascarpone cheese (8 oz, softened) * 1 ¾ cups heavy whipping cream * 2 cups brewed espresso or strong coffee (cooled to room temperature) * Rum or coffee liqueur (optional; amount based on preference) * 2 packages ladyfingers (about 40 total) * 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder * Hershey Unsweetened Cocoa mix (optional, for garnish) Instructions: 1. Make the Cream Filling: * Whisk egg yolks and sugar until pale and thick (about 5 minutes). * Add mascarpone cheese and whisk until smooth. 2. Whip the Cream: * Beat heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form (4-5 minutes). * Fold whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture gently. 3. Prepare the Espresso: * Mix cooled espresso with liqueur in a shallow dish (if using). 4. Assemble the Tiramisu: * Lightly dip ladyfingers in the espresso mix and layer in a dish. * Spread half the mascarpone cream mixture on top. * Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers, followed by the remaining cream. 5. Chill: * Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight. 6. Finish and Serve: * Dust with unsweetened cocoa powder before serving. Deanna’s journey and her Tiramisu recipe remind us to savor every step, whether in life or in the kitchen. Don’t miss this conversation packed with wisdom, laughter, and a touch of sweetness!
