Acerca de Retraced Echoes Podcast

Welcome to ’Retraced Echoes,’ a podcast dedicated to exploring the uncharted realms of the supernatural and the unknown. Hosted by Bert, this is not your typical haunted tales show. While we often delve deep into the origins that gave rise to haunting echoes, we also bring you spine-chilling narratives solely focused on the hauntings themselves. Each episode is a meticulously crafted journey that can range from dark folklore and authentic accounts to eerie tales from our community of listeners. That’s right—your personal haunting experiences could be turned into a podcast episode if selected! As a special treat, once a month, we’ll present you with a dramatized reading of a fictional ghost story to stir your imagination and keep you at the edge of your seat. So, prepare to dim the lights, steady your nerves, and step into a labyrinth of the unexplained and the uncanny. Subscribe now and join us in exploring the multi-faceted world of the paranormal like you’ve never heard before.

Mimics, the Voice You Trust, and the Trap That Makes You Move

Not with footsteps. Not with a scream. With a voice you trust. In this episode, we open the case files on Mimics, the phenomenon where a voice sounds exactly like someone you love. It calls your name, it adds urgency, and it usually adds a direction. That’s the part people realize too late. It’s not just trying to scare you. It’s trying to make you move. mimic-final We break the pattern down into a clear template, how the mimic picks the right identity, waits for the worst moment, calls your name like a hook, and then tries to pull you across a threshold. We also lay out three rules people learn right after they almost follow the sound, confirm before you move, treat urgency as a red flag, and watch for repeated name calling that feels like a command. mimic-final Then we go through three case files. A Pennsylvania duplex where two women report hearing each other’s voices and even arguments that never happened. A Nova Scotia case where names are called like roll call in the dark. And an older legend where knocks escalate into a voice with a personality, the perfect bridge into the question that never dies, when the weapon is a voice, how do you prove the source? mimic-final Finally, Bert shares a personal moment from Wildwood where his own voice appears on a timestamped recording in the wrong room, and why mimic stories are different than basic hauntings. They don’t just haunt homes. They fracture trust. 👍 Like what you saw? Why I Disappeared After Our Investigation, and the Problem With “Paranormal Proof”

I’ve been gone since November, and I never told you I was stepping away. That’s on me. But I didn’t disappear because I ran out of stories. I stepped away because after our last investigation, I hit a wall. Here’s the truth. Most paranormal devices can react, spike, beep, and light up, but that doesn’t mean they proved anything. And when you review footage later, it gets uncomfortable fast. You start seeing which moments actually hold up, and which ones collapse the second you try to defend them with a straight face. In this episode, I break down exactly why I stepped away, what we used at Hinsdale and Wildwood, and why so much of that gear fails the “proof” test even when you’re using it honestly. EMF, REM Pods, the Dead Bell, cat balls, IR cameras, all of it has a job. The problem is, most of it is single-sensor. It can alert you that something changed, but it can’t explain why. And that’s what changed everything for me. I’m not here to trash anyone’s setup. I used the same gear. I’m here to raise the standard, because families living through this every night deserve better than, “Something happened, trust me.” 👍 Like what you saw?
