Rooted in Raw Podcast
In this episode, I take you inside a deeply personal chapter of my healing journey: cleansing in season with soursop. For me, this isn’t just about nutrition, it’s about slowing down, listening to nature, and letting rare fruits become teachers in my life. Soursop is one of those fleeting treasures that’s hard to come by, yet when it appears, it feels almost sacred. I decided to make it my main feast for this cleanse, pulling back from everything else to fully embrace the healing power it offers. Alongside soursop, I share my experience with muscadine grapes; another short-lived fruit that only shows up in late summer and disappears before you know it. Their rarity reminds me of the importance of honoring what’s in season, not just for the body, but for the soul. But this episode is about more than food. It’s about shifting roles. So often, I find myself in the position of leading, teaching, and guiding others through their own wellness journeys. And while that role makes me feel encouraged, accountable, and valued, it also comes with a cost. Constantly being the teacher can quietly rob me of the stillness and mental clarity that cleansing is meant to bring. For once, I wanted to step back. To stop making the cleanse a project or a lesson plan. To turn off the noise, quiet the electronics, and just be a student to nature. In this space, cleansing doesn’t feel like work, it feels like life. It feels like healing in its purest form. In this episode, you’ll hear me reflect on: * Why I chose soursop as my primary feast during this cleanse * The significance of seasonal fruits like muscadines and how they teach us presence * The tension between being a leader and allowing myself to be a student * How silence, solitude, and nutrient-dense foods bring clarity and emotional balance * Why healing doesn’t always need to be shared step-by-step, but can be lived deeply and privately. If you’ve ever wrestled with the balance between sharing your journey and protecting your peace… if you’ve ever felt the pressure to constantly guide while craving space to simply learn… this episode will speak to you. “Silence is a source of great strength.”- Lao Tzu I want to hear from you - Follow me on social media, DM me, let’s chat!
