Rooted in Raw Podcast
Are You Tired of YOU Yet? I’ve been sitting with some things lately. Reflecting on how many versions of myself I’ve had to let go of just to stay aligned with the life I’m trying to create. And if I’m honest, it hasn’t always been pretty. I’ve had to part ways with habits, thoughts, expectations, and even people I once believed were permanent. This episode isn’t a lecture. I’m not here to tell you what you should or shouldn’t do. I just want to speak from where I’m standing in the middle of growth, discomfort, clarity, and becoming. “Be easy. Take your time. You are coming home to yourself.”— Nayyirah Waheed Sometimes growth feels like confusion. You’ll miss your old ways, even when they weren’t serving you. You’ll crave comfort, even when it kept you stuck. But here’s what I’m learning; the life you keep asking for requires a version of you YOU haven’t met yet. And you can’t fully emerge if you're still tethered to what used to be. If you’re in that in-between space right now, I see you. I’m with you. And I promise: you don’t have to be perfect to be making progress. Progress used to mean giving 100% to everything—fitness, parenting, health, and self-care. That sounds ideal, right? Like the perfect balance in a perfectly structured life. But when I actually tried to live that out, life humbled me fast.Just pouring into fitness left me drained, physically and emotionally, which took time and energy away from parenting. And then parenting started pulling from the little I had left for my own health and self-care. It became a cycle of depletion, not progress. What I’ve come to realize is that real progress doesn’t mean doing everything all at once; it means doing what you can with intention. It’s giving yourself the grace to shift your focus when needed. It’s knowing that balance doesn’t mean equal effort, it means aligned effort. Sometimes the hardest part isn’t admitting that you can’t do it all; it’s admitting when it’s you getting in your own way. Accountability can sneak up on you. But when it does, don’t run, face it. Learn from it. Adjust. Keep going. In this episode, I’m sharing some real-life moments and small decisions that have helped me step further into the woman I’m becoming. One raw, rooted, and intentional step at a time. Take what you need from this conversation. Let it meet you where you are. And always, always remember: you are allowed to evolve. Takeaway for Today:You’re allowed to outgrow the version of you that once felt safe. Growth often requires letting go, not just of people or routines, but of mindsets that no longer serve who you're becoming. Progress isn't about doing it all; it’s about choosing what truly aligns. Give yourself permission to evolve without guilt. This journey is about becoming rooted in who you are, even if that means walking away from who you used to be. This is a public episode.
