Acerca de Sisters: Latter-Day Voices

Hi! We are sisters, Candice and Clare, and we are active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who are looking forward to connecting with like-minded people about how to strengthen our testimonies of Jesus Christ and follow Him better. We do not claim to be scholars or perfect members and Latter-Day Voices acknowledges that not every journey looks the same. By having honest conversations about our trials and triumphs, sharing and learning from life experiences, we can hopefully find the joy in this journey of life. This podcast is a place for connection, understanding, and strengthening faith through our Savior, Jesus Christ.

Stronger

What if trials are less about surviving and more about becoming stronger? This week, Candice and Clare discuss the parallels between strength training and spiritual growth, from muscle fatigue and recovery to enduring hardship with faith in Christ. They share personal stories, conference insights, gym insecurities, and the comforting idea that growth often comes through resistance. A thoughtful conversation about joy, struggle, friendship, and trusting God through difficult seasons. episode Keeping Your Heart on Course artwork

Keeping Your Heart on Course

Clare and Candice reflect on the idea of “heart” in both a physical and spiritual sense. Through a personal story about Clare’s daughter Callie and her heart condition, they explore how small, often unseen issues can grow over time if left unaddressed. They connect this to spiritual health, discussing how small daily choices can either draw us closer to God or slowly shift us off course. With insights from scripture and President Nelson and Elder Uchtdorf, they share encouragement about course correcting with faith, effort, and trust in the Lord’s healing power.  Pres. When Our Understanding Gets in the Way

Sometimes our own understanding can become the biggest obstacle to faith. In this mini episode, Candice and Clare talk about trusting God when life does not make sense, remembering that He sees the full picture, and finding peace through Christ. With personal stories, a few laughs, and an uplifting quote from Jeffrey R. Holland, this episode is a reminder that good things are ahead.  Jeffrey R. episode Untangling Culture and Doctrine artwork

Untangling Culture and Doctrine

In this conversation, we’re joined by guest Lauriann for a thoughtful discussion on untangling culture and doctrine and how easily the two can become blended in everyday church life. She shares personal experiences from growing up in the Church, teaching Gospel Doctrine, and living in different places that helped her recognize what is truly eternal versus what is cultural. Together, we explore how that clarity can bring more compassion, less judgment, and a more Christ-centered way of viewing parenting, church experiences, and one another.  Sisters with Latter-Day Voices website [https://sisterslatterdayvoices.buzzsprout.com] Transcript [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2465200/episodes/19063147-untangling-culture-and-doctrine]   Fair Use & Disclaimer This podcast may include brief quotes from outside sources used for discussion, education, and commentary under fair use. episode Moses’ Origin Story- Brain Rot (Part 1) artwork

Moses’ Origin Story- Brain Rot (Part 1)

Candice retells the story of Moses like you’ve never heard it before… in full brain rot. From river basket beginnings to plagues and a Red Sea moment that hits different, this mini episode is chaotic, hilarious, and surprisingly meaningful. But beneath the slang and laughs is a real message, sometimes the scriptures can feel just as confusing as teenage lingo, and we need the Holy Ghost to truly understand them.  Sisters with Latter-Day Voices website [https://sisterslatterdayvoices.buzzsprout.com] Fair Use & Disclaimer  This podcast episode may contain brief quotes from external sources, used in a positive and respectful manner for discussion, education, and commentary.
