Ep. 30: The Murder of Justin Turner & The Witch Queen of Clemson

In the late 1980s, a brutal murder shook a quiet community. Justin Turner, a young man with his whole life ahead of him, was found dead under circumstances that still raise questions today. The mystery surrounding this tragic event spans over 30 years with many twists and turns along the way.  Plus, the Old Stone Church has a long history and is probably best known for its haunted graveyard. We truly have it all regarding the unexplained here in South Carolina: the best ghost stories, haunted hotels, creepy cryptids, and so much more. One thing we can add to that list is…haunted roads. In this episode, we’re heading to Onyx Lane —a place shrouded in mystery and spine-tingling tales. Locals claim it was built atop an old graveyard, and strange happenings have been reported ever since. From eerie apparitions to unexplained phenomena, Onyx Lane has left many wondering if the past is truly buried. Plus, a married couple decides to cut all ties with society and move to a secluded island where they lived for 30 years. Also, I was given a book for Christmas about UFO sightings around South Carolina. Today, we’re taking another look at the sinister life of South Carolina’s most infamous killer, Donald “Pee Wee’” Gaskins. Known as “The Meanest Man in America,” Gaskins terrorized the Pee Dee with a spree of murders that left a haunting legacy. Today, we’ll explore his shocking crimes, the twisted mind behind them, and the impact his dark path had on his victims and the state of South Carolina.  Also, from swamp-dwelling beasts to spectral creatures of the night, South Carolina is packed with tales of cryptids that defy logic and ignite the imagination. And later, the headmistress of a strict boarding school made it her life’s work to keep her students in check. But after one rebellious girl eloped in the middle of the night, Madame Talvande made sure to give the school a prison-like feel in hopes that something like that wouldn’t happen again.
