Ep. 151: Adolis García Lat Surgery & Malik Nabers Knee Cleanup

Welcome back to Sports Medicine on Tap! Grab a drink and pull up a chair as Dr. Brandon Olaya, DAT, ATC, along with Dr. Steven Frey and Dr. Nick Bertha, break down the biggest injury headlines across professional sports this week. On this episode: • Adolis García (Philadelphia Phillies): We dive into the biomechanics of his season-ending latissimus dorsi repair surgery. Why does the late-cocking phase of throwing put this massive muscle at risk, and what does a bone-anchor repair look like on the table? • Malik Nabers (NY Giants): Don't let the "minor cleanup" headlines fool you. We discuss the reality of a secondary knee scope, the formation of a cyclops lesion after an ACL/meniscus repair, and what this timeline means for his rookie season. • Finals War of Attrition: The medical bills are dropping from the NHL Stanley Cup Finals and the NBA Finals. From Mark Stone skating on a torn adductor to Jalen Brunson's terrifying Game 1 knee buckle, we debate the line between championship grit and clinical risk. 📍 HEADED TO NATA IN PHILADELPHIA?
