Has Beaver Baseball Done Enough To Host A Regional in 2026?

The regular season has concluded for Mitch Canham's Oregon State baseball squad. Finishing their second season as an independent, a conference tournament likely would have had the chance to pad their resume a bit further. Sitting right on the edge of the top 16 teams in the nation in RPI, but comfortably inside the top ten in the major polls, have the Beavers done enough convince the selection committee that Corvallis should host a regional? With the selection show coming on Monday, Matt Bagley reviews what the Beavers have accomplished so far in 2026 and if they have enough left in the tank to contend for their fourth national championship. The Beavs' men's basketball program is also on something of a hot streak, signing more recruits via the transfer portal, including the intriguing Latvian pro Peteris Pinnis, formerly of Providence. Also, this week, the Pac-12 Conference and Mountain West Conference agreed to settle their two-year legal battle over the exit fees and poaching penalties pertaining to the former Mountain West clubs joining the league. Your host Matt Bagley gives an update on the latest as the two sides work out a settlement. Go Beavs. Music by audionautix.com. Beaver Baseball Closes Regular Season + More Pac-12 Realignment?

The regular season is coming to a close for Oregon State baseball, who once again have eclipsed the 40-win mark for the year. Ultimately though, the goal remains the same: get back to Omaha. The first step in doing so will be to secure a home regional again. Have Mitch Canham's group done enough to make that happen? Without a conference tournament to play, they'll have to wait a little bit. On this week's State of the Beavs, your host Matt Bagley is joined by On SI contributor John Severs for a fairly all-encompassing conversation on Oregon State athletics. John offers his observations on life in Corvallis, Oregon State football, and the Scott Rueck era of OSU women's basketball. The rumor mill is once again turning with regards to the Pac-12 Conference. What's in store for the league as they continue to prepare for the league's return in the 2026-2027 academic year? Matt offers his take on the conversation surrounding realignment in the last week. Oregon State baseball have one series left in the regular season, hosting the Air Force Falcons starting on Thursday. What should we expect from the Beavers in those three final regular season games? The Effects of Dax Whitney's Injury For Oregon State Baseball

With just a few short weeks left until the NCAA Baseball Tournament begins, Oregon State have lost their All-American starting pitcher Dax Whitney to an elbow injury. The full extent of his future recovery is not immediately clear, but his college career may be over. Whitney's injury is the primary topic of conversation this week among Oregon State fans, as well with your host Matt Bagley. Contributor Ben Pahl also makes an appearance on this week's show to discuss how the Beavers can handle Whitney's absence on the mound and in the dugout. On this week's episode, listeners also get an update on the pod's plans for the coming months, including several guests from around the landscape of West Coast college sports. Those guests will help give a more complete picture of where the Pac-12 Conference goes from here and what the competitive landscape of the league will look like in the new configuration. episode What We Learned From The Oregon State Spring Game artwork

What We Learned From The Oregon State Spring Game

Oregon State football finished their spring practice schedule with a scrimmage at Reser Stadium this past weekend. Time to talk about it on this week's State of the Beavs. Hear audio from Beavs head coach JaMarcus Shephard's press availability following the scrimmage and his thoughts on what his team accomplished in recent weeks. Your host Matt Bagley also gives his thoughts on how the Beavers looked in the scrimmage. The recent weeks have allowed the program to start laying a foundation, but where do they go from here? How does the program pitch itself to the next generation of talent from high school and the transfer portal? After the football talk, put a bow on a period of heavy transition for Oregon State men's basketball with a review of what Justin Joyner has brought to Corvallis. While not much changed for the women's program, it's also a good time to take stock what's to come in the short term for Scott Rueck's team. Meanwhile, Oregon State baseball swept Hawaii this past weekend, but an injury to star RHP Dax Whitney has put a damper on the vibe. Go Beavs. Music by audionautix.com.
