Acerca de Understand Your Bible | Bible Verses, Inductive Bible Study, Biblical Encouragement, Bible Study Method, Scripture Study Tools

Are you ready to make Bible study a priority? Would you love to be more familiar with the stories and passages in scripture? Do you long to connect with God and strengthen your faith?Friend, you are in the right place. This podcast will help you understand your Bible, apply verses to your life, and become more confident with the who, where, and why in scriptureHi, I’m Angie. I’m a pastor and Bible teacher. For years, even though I knew God loved me, I still dealt with defeating doubts about my value and purpose.  It wasn’t until I began deeply studying the Bible that I experienced a heart transformation that allowed me to recognize the lies of the enemy that kept me stuck in shame and defeat. Studying scripture allowed me to stand firm on God’s promises that offer peace, joy, hope, and rest. I created a Step By Step Bible study method that teaches you to find life application in one word of scripture, and I will share it with you in these episodes. If you crave a deep dive into scripture…Bible study tools you can trust…And a method designed to equip you to study with confidence…Then, pull up a seat at our table, open your heart, and prepare to hear God speak directly to you.

375 | Why Small Steps in Bible Study Still Count

Confidence in Bible study doesn’t come from mastering everything at once. It grows through small, faithful steps over time. So often, we expect ourselves to immediately understand Scripture in a way we would never expect with any other skill. When confidence doesn’t come quickly, it’s easy to feel intimidated, discouraged, or spiritually behind. In this episode, Angie steps away briefly from the Cast Your Cares series and dives into Zechariah 4:10. This conversation is a reminder that growth is often built through repetition, practice, and simply showing up. What you’ll hear in this week’s episode * Why small beginnings matter in Bible study * How unrealistic expectations can create intimidation and discouragement * The difference between consuming content and personally engaging with Scripture * A personal story about learning and growing in Bible study over time * The reminder that slow growth is still growth Resources Bible Study Sessions A new four-week guided experience designed to help women begin studying Scripture in a simple, approachable, and supportive environment. 374 | 3 Obstacles to Bible Study and How to Overcome Them

Most women don’t avoid Bible study because they don’t love God. Often, something just feels in the way. Fear, overwhelm, insecurity, and even the vulnerability of being known by God can quietly keep us from opening Scripture consistently. But what if Bible study was never meant to feel like a performance? What if confidence in God’s Word grows slowly? In this episode, Angie pauses the Cast Your Cares series for a heartfelt conversation about three common obstacles that keep women from studying the Bible deeply. She reminds listeners that Bible study is learned, not inherited. What you’ll hear in this week’s episode * Why fear of “getting it wrong” keeps many women from Bible study * How overwhelm and comparison can make Scripture feel intimidating * The difference between conviction and condemnation * Why Bible study is more about relationship than performance * How confidence in Scripture grows through consistent, supported practice Resources Bible Study Sessions A brand-new four-week guided experience beginning in August, designed to help women study the Bible with more confidence and less overwhelm in a simple, supportive environment. 373 | Resting in God’s Love When You Feel Overwhelmed

God’s love isn’t hidden from you. It’s already been declared over your life. When life feels overwhelming, one of the first things we begin to question is whether God sees us, cares for us, or is still near. Anxiety grows louder in uncertainty. But in this episode, Angie continues the Cast Your Cares study by guiding us through Song of Songs 2:4, which is a beautiful reminder that God’s love is a banner over your life, inviting you to stop striving for reassurance and begin resting in what He has already declared.   What you’ll hear in this week’s episode •What Scripture means when it says, “His banner over me was love”•How God’s love is openly declared, not hidden or reserved •Why overwhelm can make us question where we stand with God •A personal story about learning to hold onto the truth of being deeply loved •The reminder that you can confidently live under what God has already spoken over you   Resources Step By Step Starter Kit A simple, guided resource to help you open Scripture with confidence and study one verse at a time alongside the podcast. episode 372 | Letting Go of Control and Learning to Trust God artwork

372 | Letting Go of Control and Learning to Trust God

Peace isn’t found in gripping tighter. It’s found in learning to let go and trust God. So often, what we call responsibility or being prepared is really a quiet reliance on ourselves. In this episode, Angie continues the Cast Your Cares study by stepping into James 4:10. This conversation reminds us that humility is not weakness. It’s the deliberate choice to release self-reliance and come under God’s loving authority.   What you’ll hear in this week’s episode * What it truly means to humble yourself before God * How pride and self-reliance quietly fuel anxiety * Why humility is a posture of surrender, not shame * How God’s grace meets us when we stop striving in our own strength * The reminder that letting go of control creates space for deeper peace   Resources Step By Step Starter Kit A simple, guided resource to help you open Scripture with confidence and study one verse at a time alongside the podcast. 371 | Afraid to Speak Up? How to Be Bold in Your Faith

Boldness isn’t about feeling ready. It’s about trusting God enough to move forward anyway. So often, we choose what feels comfortable over what God is prompting us to do. In reality, it may be fear quietly keeping us from obedience. In this episode, Angie continues the Cast Your Cares study by stepping into 1 Thessalonians 2:2. This conversation reminds us that boldness doesn’t come from within us, but instead, is given by God.   What you’ll hear in this week’s episode * What it means to be “emboldened” in your faith * How fear and hesitation can keep us from obedience * A personal story about missing an opportunity to act in faith * What Scripture shows about speaking and acting boldly despite opposition * The reminder that obedience often leads to deeper peace than comfort   Resources Step By Step Starter Kit A simple, guided resource to help you open Scripture with confidence and study one verse at a time alongside the podcast.
