Jewish Man Paul Kessler Killed With Megaphone — Attacker Pleads Guilty, Judge Signals Probation

A man pleads guilty to killing a Jewish protester — and a California judge is signaling as little as zero to one year in county jail. Is justice being served? In November 2023, Paul Kessler — a 69-year-old pro-Israel protester — was struck in the head with a megaphone at a rally in Thousand Oaks, California. He fell. He died. The man responsible, Loay Alnaji, has now pleaded guilty to felony manslaughter and felony battery — admitting he used a weapon and that the victim was particularly vulnerable. The maximum sentence is four years in state prison. The judge is signaling this is a probationary case — meaning Alnaji could serve anywhere from zero to one year in county jail. The DA objected. The family objected. And sentencing is June 25th — nothing is final yet. Los Angeles criminal defense attorney James Blatt joins Stella News to break down how this happened, what it means for justice and community safety, and what you can do right now. ⚠️ SENTENCING IS JUNE 25TH — SHOW UP.

episode LA Votes to Allow Non-Citizens to Vote — Musk Reacts artwork

LA Votes to Allow Non-Citizens to Vote — Musk Reacts

The LA City Council just voted 10-5 to put non-citizen voting on the November ballot — and Elon Musk summed it up in five words: "They have imported voters to win." The measure was introduced by DSA council member Hugo Soto-Martinez and passed 10-5. If LA voters approve it in November, it would amend the city charter to allow non-citizens — including DACA recipients, TPS holders, and legal permanent residents — to vote in city and LAUSD elections. But here's the problem: there's no implementation framework, no cost study, and the county that actually runs LA's elections was never consulted on whether any of this is even possible. Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez said it on the floor: "I don't even know that the county has actually been consulted in their ability to implement this." They voted to put it on the ballot without asking the people who run their elections if it could work. And the political stakes go even higher — Nithya Raman, another DSA council member who voted YES, just beat Spencer Pratt in the primary and is now in the mayoral runoff against Karen Bass. The same person who just voted to expand voting to non-citizens could soon be running the city. Santa Ana voters rejected a nearly identical measure in November 2024 — 62% to 38%. Will LA follow?

Spencer Pratt Isn't Done: The Law That Could Put Him Back In

Spencer Pratt isn't going quietly. After slipping from second to third place as mail-in ballots were counted in the June 2nd Los Angeles mayoral primary, Pratt came out swinging — posting a video calling it "Phase Three" and warning Karen Bass and Nithya Raman to watch their backs heading into November. But here's what most people aren't talking about: there's a section in the Los Angeles City Charter — Election Code Section 427 — that says if a candidate who advances from a primary dies, resigns, or is otherwise disqualified, the person with the next highest votes takes their place. That person is Spencer Pratt. And Pratt claims he has a recording that could change everything. We break down the law, the loophole, and what it all means — plus the federal investigation closing in on California elections. First Assistant U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli has announced multiple election fraud probes and is working with DOJ Civil Rights Chief Harmeet Dhillon to audit California's voter rolls. Meanwhile, a Marina del Rey woman just pleaded guilty to paying homeless people on Skid Row $2-$3 to register to vote — for nearly 20 years. And the federal government just suspended funding to LAHSA after investigators found evidence the agency abused hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars. TRUMP’S Iran “Fair Deal”: Suggests Syria Handle Hezbollah, Qatar Billions Flood U.S.

President Trump is set to sign a peace deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran in Geneva this Friday — but can a regime actually be trusted to honor it? Stella Escovido sits down with Middle East expert Dr. Walid Phares to break down what's really in this deal, and whether peace with Tehran can ever be more than a pause button. Plus, President Trump says Israel is taking too long to finish off Hezbollah in Lebanon, and suggests Syria should do the job instead. Dr. Phares explains why that's a red flag. Syria's president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, is a former al-Qaeda-linked commander who fought under the name Abu Mohammed al-Jolani before taking power in Damascus. Should the U.S. be comfortable handing off security responsibilities to him? And, Qatar. Trump claims the Gulf nation is investing as much as $19 trillion dollars into the United States, a number that dwarfs the 1.2 trillion dollar economic exchange announced back in 2025. We break down what's verified, what's still just talk, and what it means for everyday Americans.
