Here Are Your Idols | Success

May 31, 2026  Is it bad for us to desire success? Success is not a bad thing. Being successful is a way for the believer to glorify God because your success is a sign that you’re good at what you do! In fact, Scripture says we should work heartily for the Lord no matter who we’re working for. Our successes become a vehicle for us to glorify God. Success becomes problematic for the believer when we start to find our identity and our value in our successes. Here Are Your Idols | Control

May 24, 2026  From the perspective of the control freak, we look at control as a way of having peace of mind – we’re just trying to reduce the chaos in our life. However, our need for control runs much deeper than having peace of mind; our need for control is really about authority. We want to be in charge of the outcomes, we want to dictate the terms of our situation, and we want to ultimately decide what we will do with our time. This kind of control is an attempt to keep our faith safe and comfortable. May 17, 2026  Like so many before us, we’re prone to seeking the validation and approval of others; more than receiving it from God. This need for approval becomes our idol as we trade the glory of God, for the glory of man. The idol of approval leads us away from pleasing God, as we strive to please others. Change My Mind | Good Fruit

May 3, 2026  Just as we’re called to judge the kind of fruit we see in the lives of others, we should also judge the kind of fruit we’re producing in our life. This becomes an indication of personal growth. It’s easy to tell which trees are flourishing and which are struggling by looking at the fruit they’re able to bear. In our walk with God, we need to learn to pay attention to the kind of fruit we’re producing in our life. We need God to step in and direct our hearts on what is good fruit and what is bad.
