Hosts Becky Josberger and Renee Duffy are passionate about the Old Testament and committed to helping others read it for themselves. Shaped by their life and work in Portland, they approach the Old Testament with care, compassion, and courage—cutting through clichés and church baggage to help listeners see the text with fresh eyes. Scholars, teachers, and friends, Becky brings creative energy and sharp insight, and Renee adds grounding clarity and thoughtful engagement. Their conversations spark both curiosity and understanding, inviting listeners into the text in ways that are both fresh and deeply rooted. Becky studied under some of the leading figures in biblical studies, and her teaching reflects the depth of that legacy. Renee, a doctoral student and former college professor, brings the perspective of a scholar actively engaged in research on biblical narrative and identity, marked by thoughtful engagement with the text. Together they weave academic depth with curiosity, respect for diverse voices, and a desire to let Scripture speak for itself.
