The Confidence to Grow Podcast
This week I had the privilege to interview Ashton Wood of DV Safe Phone, a charity that takes your old mobile phones, prepares them and gives them to people experiencing Domestic Violence. He shares his story of entrepreneurship and details about how he orchestrated some MASSIVE changes in Australia relating to 'Lemon Cars', consumer rights, how we think about our old mobile telephones and Domestic Violence. I was inspired by his vision for DV Safe Phone, it's truly incredible. It provides a “safe phone” to victims of domestic violence, to use in an emergency. 2. It allows domestic violence and law enforcement agencies to focus on the amazing services they already offer, with us providing the “technology” (phones) required. 3. It provides a Corporate Social Responsibility program like no other, with DV Safe Phone doing all the heavy lifting (all people/companies need to do is send us the phones and we will do the rest) 4. We are another level of security around the disposal of old mobile devices. (we individually factory reset and test every phone and remove and destroy any removable SD cards that are still in the phones we receive) 5. We meet the environmental requirements around disposal of old mobile devices (if we can’t use the phone due to age/damage, we will ensure it’s recycled through an official mobile phone recycling centre.
