Blessed Are The Peacemakers - S1E12

In this final episode of the season Tim & Jon discuss Tim's new B&W short western "Blessed Are The Peacemakers" which has not yet been released to the public. We also talk about our filmmaking delays and the podcast delays that brought us to March instead of late December. Will we have another season? Will we shoot Iggy & Alma? What are the Film Bar Mondays and local networking plans considering what's been happening? Do we have a new project brewing? Absolutely. While we discuss our love of two classic films, "The Sweet Smell of Success" & "Bicycle Thieves" we address these concerns and we come to some controversial conclusions. And of course we discuss our short film which will be entering the festival circuit presently. Blessed Are The Peacemakers cannot be seen publicly or on the internet right now, but if you would like to participate in the conversation about the Sweet Smell of Success or Bicycle Thieves please view them on the Criterion Channel or buy the discs online. I have not checked on their availability since last year. At The Film Bar Review we give you an example of the kinds of conversations we might have at the local Film Bar Mondays, while reviewing many locally produced films, and featuring the filmmakers who made it happen. Give their films a watch, and join us to talk in person at Film Bar Mondays in cities like Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, FL  & Tampa, FL to have a drink and talk film. Anthony Caban and How to Improve Your Films - S1E11

*Some explicit language. Jon & Tim welcome fellow Film Bar Monday's friend, Anthony Caban to discuss his films including The Last Bounty, his latest in a series of what he calls "amateur films". As a young director and actor, Anthony knows that his films aren't perfect, and he plans for criticism and improvement on future film escapades. He knows that this is just the beginning of a long and storied career in filmmaking ahead of him, and we rwespect him for his willingness to get down to brass tax and talk about how to improve his work. We recommend to all filmmakers, no matter how experienced they are, to be as open and honest as Anthony is in the interest of improving their craft and making the industry of film and movies stronger for it. Speaking of the industry- we also discuss Hollywood, the streaming services, Scorsese's The Irishman, and we officially announce Anthony as one of our lead actors in "Iggy and Alma", our first Film Bar Mondays associated production. -EXPLICIT CONTENT- Watch Anthony's trailer for "The Last Bounty" on YouTube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwwSiBH50dM At The Film Bar Review we give you an example of the kinds of conversations we might have at the local Film Bar Mondays, while reviewing many locally produced films, and featuring the filmmakers who made it happen. Greg Cheramie and Iggy & Alma - S1E10

Jon & Tim have our dear friend, Greg Cheramie over to discuss his accidental brush-in with his true love, filmmaking. And we officially announce the film the three of us are working on, "Iggy & Alma". We lay out our restrictions, our plans, and the methodology by which we plan on shooting this feature. The basic guidelines for this production are: 1. iPhone 2. B&W 3. (1) mobile LED light 4. Mumblecore genre 5. Don't scrimp on sound. Watch "Relics" on YouTube for inspiration. https://youtu.be/Gx2ZXyfInw4 At The Film Bar Review we give you an example of the kinds of conversations we might have at the local Film Bar Mondays, while reviewing many locally produced films, and featuring the filmmakers who made it happen. Cinematography with Brandon Hyde - S1E9

Jon & Tim interview a local cinematographer extraordinaire, Brandon D. Hyde, in this episode. From indy arthouse "Paradise, FL" to glossy family faire like "Bernie the Dolphin" to Bollywood-style glittering romance such as "Draupadi Unleashed" to Kevin Smith indie horror anthology "Killroy Was Here", Brandon illuminates the challenges and beauty of working commercially as a local professional cinematographer. We discuss numerous films, the Hollywood vs Indie film ethic, and our personal private goals, here in this episode. Relics & Setting Film Goals - S1E8

In this episode, Jon and Tim meet up for an impromptu recording at The Wooden Rooster where we discuss how we can make films in the future. We discuss a film that can be found on YouTube that inspires us to make better goals; "Relics", a black & white shot in Tokyo and directed by Greg Bakker, a South African filmmaker. We continue to talk about making better goals so that we can ensure our future as filmmakers. This isn't easy for us and we know it's not easy for most filmmakers. So, we wanted to include some helpful advice in this episode. Please listen to the end where we reveal the result of our attempts to make better goals. And please watch Relics, which made us believe we can make a film with just a few people, using an indy film ethic and a black & white mumblecore aesthetic. This is our first episode where we discuss a film not shot in the Tampa Bay area.
