S3 E4 The Intersections of Young, Gifted, Black & Vulnerable
Hey Y’all Hey & What's Poppin' it's Malaika & Amina. Thanks for meeting us at The Intersection.
This week we have a special Guest, Lisa O!
And here’s what we're talking about on this episode:
The Agreements
1. Engage w/us- Comment, discuss, question. We’re here and we want to hear from you.
2. Expect to experience discomfort- Some of the things we talk about are uncomfortable, may require deep thinking and or deep feelings. We invite you to lean into discomfort.
3. Expect and Accept Non-closure- We don’t have all of the answers and sometimes we (and you) may not walk away with the answer and that is ok.

This week's we're at the intersections of Young, Gifted, Black & Vulnerable:
Lisa and Amina drive the conversation and I navigate. Our dogs are still rude and unhelpful. Yes, that is a phone ringing because we still have a landline. We start w/ what Fresh Off the Boat brings up for us. (Is Eddie Huang showing cultural appreciation or appropriating culture? The difference between warm love, expectations, pressure to perform). We talk about the concept of WARM LOVE as expressed in this week's viral video by @kierandthem on IG. And what are the expectations for a young, gifted, Black, female/non-binary/LGBTQIA+ person in family, community, and school? And why people don't/haven't taken our need for help seriously.
