Dr. Heindl also celebrated student success in the classroom, from national recognition as a Best College for Veterans and Best Online College to award-winning nursing students, literary publications, and expanding partnerships with universities and institutions across the state. Dr. Heindl also highlighted Northwest’s tremendous success in athletics and the arts, pointing to national championships in cheer, dance, and women’s soccer, conference and regional titles in football and women’s basketball, and strong academic performance among student-athletes, including 157 students earning Athletic Director’s Honor Roll recognition and seven sports posting team GPAs above 3.7. He discussed major campus facility improvements, including the new Athletic Performance Facility, expanded spaces for cheer and dance, renovations to the Senatobia library and theater program, and plans for additional student housing due to overwhelming residential demand. Looking ahead, Dr. Heindl previewed upcoming Heindl Center performances featuring Bill Engvall, Danny Gokey, and The Four Tops, shared updates on Northwest’s growing aviation initiatives, and discussed preparations for the college’s Centennial Celebration in 2026, commemorating 100 years since Northwest welcomed its first college students in September 1926.
