Tech Voices: This 150-year-old Company is Bringing Innovation to the Concrete Industry

In this episode of Tech Voices, we speak with David Perkins, Vice President of Government Affairs & Communications at Heidelberg about the company and its work to address concrete’s carbon footprint.  As the second most widely utilized building material on the planet, behind only water, concrete is the literal foundation of the modern world.  At the same time, the environmental footprint of its production is significant and is responsible for eight percent of the world’s carbon dioxide emissions. Startups and companies, including Heidelberg Materials, are stepping up to the challenge to provide cost-effective solutions.  *Subscribe to the podcast! Learn more about us: C3newsmag.com

Right Voices: Rep. Victoria Spartz Warns of Economic and Environmental Damage From Socialism

Indiana Rep. Victoria Spartz recently joined C3 Solutions Co-Founder John Hart for a fascinating interview where she shared her story of growing up under Socialism.  She relates her experience to what's happening today. American and European consumers have experienced high energy costs and steep inflation in the past two years. A key reason is Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which disrupted supplies and global markets. In addition to impacting citizens in the U.S., the war has also caused an estimated 500,000 casualties and injuries [https://www.congress.gov/118/meeting/house/116768/documents/HHRG-118-ZS00-20240130-SD002.pdf]on both sides.  As the lone member of Congress who was born in the Soviet Union, Ukraine specifically, Rep. Victoria Spartz (R-IN) has a unique view of the Ukraine war and how it is shaping politics and policy in the U.S.  Listen in to this episode & subscribe to the podcast for automatic downloads of new episodes each week!  Recent Episodes:  * Right Voices: Rep. Tech Voices: Rondo Energy CEO John O’Donnell on Using Bricks to Decarbonize Industrial Processes

C3 Solutions’ President Drew Bond recently sat down [https://youtu.be/ICq-o4BNGO4]with John O’Donnell, Rondo Energy's CEO, to talk about the company’s unique thermal energy storage technology.  In this interview, the two discuss how heavy industry is known to be one of the hardest sectors of the economy to decarbonize.  Production of materials like steel and cement requires a lot of continuous heat and cannot be met by the variability of renewable power, which is playing an increasingly larger role on the nation’s power grid.    Rondo Energy is taking a novel approach to this challenge by using low-cost wind and solar electricity to generate and store industrial heat. We get some fascinating looks inside the process in the company in this interview.  Catch up on recent episodes: * Rep. Right Voices: Rep. Jeff Duncan Outlines Policies to Unleash American Nuclear Power

In this episode of Right Voices, we spoke with Rep. Jeff Duncan, leads a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers introducing sweeping reforms to the nation’s regulatory system to deploy more nuclear power production. Congressman Duncan joined us to discuss his proposed policies to unleash American nuclear power. While nuclear power is safe, clean, and reliable, antiquated laws and regulations have hindered its deployment. To address these challenges Rep. Duncan introduced the Atomic Energy Advancement Act [https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/house-bill/6544].  The AEAA, which recently passed the House of Representatives, includes several reforms [https://c3newsmag.com/with-atomic-energy-advancement-act-congress-charts-a-path-to-unleash-american-nuclear-power/] to drive nuclear forward.   These include modernizing the permitting process, directing the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to consider the benefits of nuclear energy in its mission, and strengthening international competitiveness through trade and exports.  *Subscribe to this podcast on iTunes, Spotify or wherever you listen! >Learn more: C3newsmag.com
